if we wanted to make a stop and visit the poly in Feb, where would you eat as a adult couple?

what would you eat?

my DH loves the poly, we are staying offsite, - but we could visit and have dinner after the parks?

thank you

Tina

You will need ADRs. There are two sit down restaurants at the Polynesian.

Ohana is served family style. It's all you care to eat, but they bring it to your table.

Kona is a more relaxed sit down restaurant which serves food and dishes off a menu.

Both are wonderful, but for your specific situation I'd choose Kona. They have some of the best food on property. It's prepared well. I also believe the restaurant's atmosphere serves a couple well. Go with Kona Cafe and make an ADR as soon as possible.

We have never tried Ohana. I hear great things about the food, but it's a family restaurant with things to do to entertain the kids. Because of this, I think it would be less romantic thank Kona Cafe.

We stayed at the Poly last year. It was wonderful. We ate two dinners at Kona and both were excellent meals with great service. I would gladly go back there again.

Make and ADR, no matter where you decide upon.

We have done dinner at Ohana and dinner at Kona and we prefer Ohana, from beginning to end the meal was fantastic.

Kona. Too many children's events and too much noise at 'Ohana to make it a nice place for an adult couple.

Kona Cafe!!! I love it there for any meal. We travelled from CBR this past week just to eat there because we love it so much :lmao:

Go for Kona!! It is so relaxed and the food is great!! Another idea is the
Spirit of Aloha Laua Show. Of course it is not a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, but you sure will have alot of fun and have some good food!!

I'm all for the Kona, too. Make the ADR. We know you want to. ;)

DW and I love to go to Kona. It's always on our ADRs. DW can't get enough of the Kona Salad...potstickers are great too. Dessert..oh dessert. DW always takes a walk up to the dessert bar to check out the sites before she orders dinner :) Me? I like the childrens sundae with the cotton candy.

Iam also going on a "just the 2 of us" vacation to WDW. We're staying at the Poly and DH and I have 9:30 ressies for OHana. Does anyone think it will still be noisy and full of little ones that late?

It's true that Ohana is served family style and has events for little kids, but there's also the possibility of being seated near the windows with a lovely view of the castle. I can't remember if Kona has any window seating, but if it does, there's not as much of it as at Ohana. Both are good though.

Kona Cafe! Very nice there. Food is great!

DH and I don't have kids so it's always just us. We LOVE O'Hana. The food and atmosphere are so much fun. Kona really isn't our thing. The ambiance and menu just don't appeal to us.

We've eaten at both, and both are nice. We prefer O'hana though. On one of our "date" nights, we had a lovely table by the window. The strangers' kids still did their thing (we don't have any), but we were oblivious. ;) VERY romantic and perfect for us.

I would go with the Kona Cafe. Nothing against Ohanas, but the Kona has more of a selection for both dinner and dessert.

I would definitely make an ADR.

I'm going to be of no help since we are doing both on our trip in October. I've heard so many recommendations for either restaurant that I couldn't choose. Plus we love the Poly so why not head over there twice in one trip!! :)

Good luck in choosing but I don't think you'll be disappointed with either.
