Dinner at Ohana or The Wave?

We really like Ohana, but OMG there is NO way it would be good for an anniversary dinner!!! It's very loud, lots of children running around (which is part of the entertainment) and typically not-so-good service. While Ohana is great for a more family oriented meal - or just a high-energy dining experience, it is not at all a good place for romance.

We've done the Wave and it was great - very quiet, grown-up atmosphere - I would absolutely recommend it for your anniversary dinner :thumbsup2

We switched our meal at Ohanas to The Wave for exactly the reasons that everyone stated here. After a day of "running/screaming" in the parks, the last thing that we wanted was another meal full of excitement and shows.

We have never eaten at either, but for an Anniversary dinner, I would choose the quieter restaurant atmosphere at The Wave.

It's worth noting that people love Ohana's, and that might be a better choice for a different day?!

I have never been to Ohana's, but having been to the wave I woudl aboslutely recommend it for a non-signature anniversary dinner. It has a nice atmosphere for an anniversary and great food.

Both are good places to eat, but for an anniversary dinner, I think The Wave is the better choice. It's more romantic and quiet.

We have never been to The Wave but have been to 'Ohana. Based on the food at 'Ohana alone, I would suggest The Wave.:thumbsup2

I would not celebrate my 10th anniversary at 'Ohana in a million years. Who wants to be interrupted by a guy with a sword full of meat lording over your table and an emcee working a mike teaching the crowd how to say "family" in Hawaiian as you are trying to lovingly look into your spouse's eyes? Frankly, I wouldn't choose Wave either. Your vacation is going to cost you several thousand dollars. The price increase to step up to a memorable meal at a signature restaurant for one special eveining is not going to make that much of a difference. I would rather spend $150 at California Grill, bluezoo or Citricos than $100 at O'Hana or Wave, especially if I was trying to plan a special night to remember.

Treat yourself to a "signature". I guarantee that when you look back on it, you won't regret it.

I agree with this, however, I would consider the Wave to be "signature-light". It's not quite a true signature restaurant, but it's probably halfway between a regular TS restaurant and a signature spot. For those on the DDP who don't want to spend the extra credit, but still have a great meal, this may fit the bill. The other restaurant I feel this way about is Sanaa.

We celebrated dh birthday at the Wave last summer. Food was very good and service was impeccable. It was quiet and relaxing and we will definitely return.

I've read a couple more reviews about O'hana and it sounds like a very loud place. For our 10th anniversary I'd prefer a quieter atmosphere and not all loud and busy. For example... I can't stand Whispering Canyon. There is nothing whispering in that place! :rotfl: So should I stay clear of O'hana? :confused3

Based on what you've said? The Wave - definitely. O'hana does have good food and it is fun, but it IS loud and it IS busy.

Just my .02 :hippie:

Without a doubt try The Wave - The food and atmosphere are absolutely amazing and most importantly... quiet.

I really would not want to do the anniversary dinner at OHANA.
I would ABSOLUTELY suggest going there on your trip though.
We have a ressie for OHANA the day before our 30th Anniversary, next month.

Going to LeCellier for the Anniversary though, although we did consider Narcoose's at GF.
