Dinner at MGM

I know everyone keeps saying that there's no place good to eat at MGM. However, I am probably going to be there for dinner one night and need to pick someplace to go.

I don't think I'll have any TS credits left when we do this so I may need to eat CS for dinner or we may just pay for TS OOP. Either way, what would be your picks for TS or CS

TS: 50's Prime Time or Sci Fi Dine in Theatre

CS: Pizza Planet or Backlot Express. Those sound like the only 2 CS's that people even mention as being ok.

Keep in mind I may be eating at one of these CS for lunch. This is just in case we're in the park at dinner time.

Thanks for the help!

We always enjoy 50"s Prime Time Cafe. Food is good and it is also a lot of fun! I highly recommend eating there instead of CS.

50's Prime Time,to me,is fun but only if you get a good server. The food is down home like mama used to make and is pretty good. Sci-Fi,I think, has very good food-it's definitely improved,my daughter(12) loves it and the hokey sci-fi scary movie trailers. Have you thought of the Brown Derby? The food is excellent.

We love 50's Prime Time !! We eat there every trip! My Boys love it when they make my DS wear a bib!

For TS: 50s Prime Time--always a favorite.
For CS: Backlot -- this is one of the few good CS places on property. Next to Colombia Harbor House at MK, this is our next favorite place to eat. They have a good menu and decent deserts. This has become the only CS we eat at at MGM now.

another vote for 50's prime time. We like the food. The pot roast, meat loaf and fried chicken are the best (IMHO). Simple, yummy food.

The fun with the servers is just bonus for us. We have had very boring servers and servers who have made dinner extra fun. Either way, we still go every trip for the food.

I have to agree with the masses! 50's PT is a must for us every trip. We like the food and the atmosphere. Although we did enjoy our experience at Sci-Fi, it has a great atmosphere, but we did not enjoy the food or the service nearly as much.

The Brown Derby is one of my favorite TS locations on property and it just so happens to be at MGM.

ETA: We used to really enjoy 50's PT a lot but the past few times we've been we haven't had very good things to say about it. Not horrible by any means, just not what we remembered from how it used to be. Again, that was just our personal experience and it is different for everyone. There are still tons of people who love it :) And the Sci-Fi Dine In is pretty good as well.

For CS at MGM I like Rosie's All-American and Backlot Express. I've also heard good things about the Flatbread Grill which I would like to try on my next trip.

My boys really enjoy 50's Primetime. We have yet to have a bad meal.

Backlot Express for CS.

We actually love 50's PT - food has always been great. I enjoy Sci Fi, too, and Brown Derby a lot. I never understand why some people say there are no good TS spots at MGM as we have a hard time deciding between those 3.

I have never had CS there as we always do a TS and MGM is a half day park for us. Can't help there, sorry =(

We prefer 50's PT. We ate there last month and as DH put it, "it was good, plain food". One member of our party, who was on a ceaser salad tour of the WDW restaurants said it was the best she had eaten all week. The kids liked it as well, although they also like Sci-Fi. At their age, however, dinner really isn't about the food.

I wish you would TS credits left as I do think Brown Derby is one of Disney's consistently good meals on property..

Another vote for Prime Time!
The food is good and the atmosphere is fun! We ate at Sci-Fi last week. The food was good, but the seating makes it impossible to talk to anyone but the person sitting right next to you. And the whole place is creepy quiet as everyone is watching the movies (which are fun). Makes me remember why I don't allow tv during dinner time!

Hi. We just went with 10 to Prime Time Cafe and were very impresses with the food. Did not remember it that good the last time we tried 6 years ago. People were 6-67 in age and not one complaint. There was many at other places so please go!

Thanks everyone. I booked 50s Prime Time for an early (5 pm) dinner as I'd like to catch the Fantasmic show that evening.

Brown Derby is our new favourite restaurant in WDW. If you can swing it I would go there...even if you have to pay it is so worth it.
