After a lot of humming and ahhing I finally decided to go for it and book a Dinner Package for the Candlelight Processional so we are guaranteed a seat for the show on December 27 as I know the park will be very busy and didn't fancy standing in a queue for hours!

Due to budget constraints (DD is now 12 so adult price) I had to go for the cheapest Tier so we are booked into the Garden Grill for Dinner at 7pm, following the 5pm show.

We have never eaten at this restaurant and I just wonder if any of you could let me know your experiences there. When I booked I made a note that I am vegetarian so hopefully there will be something I can eat! Also, what is on the children's menu?

What did you think of the food, service and character interaction at the Garden Grill?

Thanks a bunch! :D

YUMMY!!! This is one of my favorites. We eat here every trip. They do have a vegetarian option, but I can't remember what it is. It looked pretty good though! It does have some kind of pasta. All of their vegetables are wonderful! The characters here do a great job. We have never had a problem with the service.

The vegetarian option that I have read about was polenta w/ grilled veggies and red sauce. Sounded YUMMY!! So that's where we booked.

Hated it. The food was disgusting. They served it family style, in skillets. If I remember, it was catfish (nauseating), some kind of greasy, dark meat rotisserie chicken (ugh) and vegetables that weren't bad to me, but my daughter was out of luck - she hated everything. They also had some kind of bread - I forget what it was, but it was probably the best thing on the table. If it weren't for the fact that the restaurant revolved, which was mildly amusing, and the characters posed for photos with us, it would have been a complete bust. It wasn't cheap either. I know I'm in the minority, I've heard lots of people love GG - but we would never go there again, not even for free.

Love the Garden Grill. The meats (they have 3) are tasty (the fish does not taste "fishy") and the mashed potatoes are great. The only complaint I have is the cost. They raised the price to over $20 and it used to be $16.

We like to go there for lunch. The food is basic, but both times it was hot and fresh and service was excellent. I much prefer meals served family style which allow you to pick and choose without going through a buffet after a hundred other people. (ick!) At least with family style you know that the kid at the next table didn't sneeze on it. Expect standard Heartland kind of foods.

Well 4 out of 5 isn't bad is it? ;)

WDW2002 - thanks for the photo of the veggie menu, it does sound good doesn't it?

I guess we will stick with it then and fingers crossed we will ENJOY!! :D

We have dined at the Garden Grill and we had good food and service. You get a one of a kind view of The Land ride as the dining room slowly rotates. :D

One of our favorite restaurants. My daughter 15 at the time did not like the adult food so they gave her the childs plate instead.

Thanks WDW2002 for posting the menu. I guess the marinara sauce was what I remembered and thought that it must go with pasta.

I'm not a vegetarian, but it sure looks like I would be happy with that meal!

Mazzy, I hope you have a GREAT time!
