We are trying to figure out where to eat one night in January after HS closes at 7pm. We didn't want to change clothes and then head back to dinner or we would be eating really late.

Any one eaten at Cape May Cafe for Dinner? Is it good? Opinions please!!!!!

The Cape May Cafe is good for dinner, especially if you enjoy seafood. The selection for kids is pretty much the usual standard Disney fare (chicken nuggets, mac and cheese..). The dessert selection is pretty good too. The staff there has always been attentive and polite, I think it is a nice buffet. Have fun!

Oh it is a huge YES from us! Click on my Oct link for tons of pics and a full review

No! The dessert was good by far the best part of the meal
. But the shrimp was mealy, the mussels and clams were rubbery.
Definately not for a person used to good quality seafood.

No, you would be better to use your ADR elsewhere. As a seafood lover, the food was disappointing. If you label something as New England Clam Chowder, make sure it is and it New Englanders recognize it.

Cape May is one of the greatest debates on the boards. Some love, some hate. I for one love Cape May. It is a must do for my family. I would only recommend if you like boiled shrimp and steamed clams and mussells.

Give it a try, you may like it.

We have ressies for Dec 5 and it will be our first time. DH is a seafood nut and I love turf. We figured this would make both of us happy.

We LOVED Cape May! My whole family gave it a thumbs up! Loved the Shrimp and steak...yum yum!

DW and I have been to Cape May dinner buffet twice. I agree with the writer who said you should stay away if you love real good seafood. While it is a pretty good buffet in general, the seafood leaves a lot to be desired. As a shrimp and clam lover, I was very disappointed with a meal that is billed as a New England Clam Bake.

That being said, I have to give them high marks for their dessert table. It is one of the best at WDW.

One caution - Of course you need ressies to get in, but you stand a better chance of being seated if you are a large party since they have more large tables. DW and I went ourselves and waited one hour after our ressies because they did not have a table for 2 available. We stood by and watched parties of 8 and 10 being seated. It was very frustrating.

If you want to experience Cape May, go for the breakfast buffet. Our party of 12 (the whole family this time) was quickly seated and had a wonderful character breakfast with Minnie and friends.

We always eat there. Its pricey (40 per person) - If you do go, try the OREO BON BONS!!!!:cloud9: Also, the mussels are amazing.

I liked it and so did my Mom. Was it superb seafood? NO...but it was good and plentiful. I especially liked the boiled shrimp. Plus, there was more than just seafood to choose from.
I liked..but did not love the desserts. The Oreo bon bons were the best in the bunch to be sure.

Yes, we loved our dinner at Cape May and have ressies next month! The food was fresh and delicious and if you have anyone in your party who is not a big seafood fan or is a vegetarian, there are plenty of other tempting selections to choose from! :goodvibes

This place always gets reviews that are polar opposites...If you are thinking New England quality seafood, you may be disappointed. But we just went here on Sept 21st and absolutely LOVED the food.Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely go back.

and it was the one disappointment of all our meals.....the food was okay, nothing special but the service for us was not good. We were extremely rushed. After 1/2 an hour we had the waitress ask us 3 times.."are you ready for dessert, are you going to have dessert?" Then we had a mandatory 18% gratuity added on which was the only restaurant that did this and the only restaurant where we felt the service was not worth 18%. It was convenient since we were staying at BCV but was the only disappointing meal.

We like Cape May Buffet -- especially the shrimp. And as others have said, I too can recommend the Oreo bon bons (although in a contest, I would choose Zebra Domes from Boma);)

we liked Cape May Cafe (went in Sept. 2008.) Had an excellent server. Food was fresh, plentiful and tasty. Desserts were outstanding. We enjoyed being able to get "adult" beverages (OOP of course!:) )

Was it the best seafood in the universe...no, of course not. But it was good, not as hectic as character buffets, and you don't have to dress up. We were not rushed in the least. In fact, we ordered coffee shortly before we went for dessert, and our server made a point of saying he'd "take our cards up whenever we were ready, but no rush, enjoy your desserts." PP must have had a large party with the automatic gratuity, because we did not have any auto tip.

Here's a link to my review from September if you want more details & pictures...post #61

We always enjoy the Cape May Cape for dinner. I like the salads, potatoes and veggies. The guys like the ribs, sliced beef roast and mussels. We all have a small cup of chowder and everyone skips dessert. The desserts really don't do much for us, which really proves the point that you need to go and find out for yourself. With so many different opinions here it's clear no one can decide for you! Have a great dinner:goodvibes .

Anyone know what the recent cost is for adults for Cape May Dinner? I saw on allears.net that it is $26.99 but I wanted to know if that's the right price. I know drinks are not included. We're going Dec 5 so it isn't holiday pricing. I want to make sure my budgeting is correct.
