We will be traveling with 6 year old in June 2015, any suggestions on what is best time for dinner ARDs.

I would try to aim to eat as close to your family's normal time as possible. The one exception is if you tend to end later and have a lot of signature places planned, you may wish to dine a bit earlier. Signature places tend to be a bit less child focused later in the evening. There are children there however, even up until closing so if your child tends to behave well, even that should not be a big issue.

We travel with 2 young kids (8 & 1 1/2). We try to eat dinner between 5 & 6. I find that's a good time to eat. It gets done early enough that we can still get the little one to bed at a reasonable time and still get to stay out and do some rides and stuff with my older child before fireworks and parades and stuff

My DGD is a hearty eater, I'm thinking 5:30, our dinner is at that time at home. But I also think our food would take at least 40 mins to 1 hr to make it to our table. Maybe 5:00 pm would be better.

Are you planning more signature meals? I don't think I have been anywhere in Disney that the food took 40 minutes to an hour to get to our table (except for trex) and that was just bad service lol. But we also haven't done signature dining so I don't know how long it takes to get food there.

We got all our ARDS today!, thanks for all the suggestions.
June5 O'hana -5:30

I think those times are perfect. We're usually always exhausted and starving by then. A nice sit down dinner gives us some time to relax and decide what we want to do with the rest of our evening. If everyone is too tired, we usually just head back for a swim & bed. If not, we'll do a couple more rides & maybe stay for the parade or fireworks. We never plan anything ahead of time for the evenings, we always just base it on how everyone is holding up at that time. We've missed some of the shows & fireworks over the years, but I'd rather do that than have exhausted, miserable kids.

We found it to be extremely helpful to keep the same dining time that we eat at home. I would do the same! :)

I agree with this. If you are thinking about this enough that you are asking a question, you might as well as go with your normal eating time.

Honestly, I don't think my family really thought about it. We just went with times we could get. But since you are actively thinking about, go with your normal dinner time.

With young kids, we aim for dinner times that match when we eat at home--adjusting for time change. I tried to hit it within 90 minutes. So if we eat at 6, I try for between 5:15 and 6:45. Not that I am always successful. Late dining is usually more of an issue for us than dining early.

We just typically aim for a time slot that allows us to do what ever we want in the evening; so if we want to watch a parade or fireworks then we make sure and eat early enough we are done in time. Typically this means we eat close to our normal time that we would at home, but not every family eats around 6. Last trip we went with my sister and her family and they tend to be late eaters - like 8ish. So it was interesting trying to balance it for all of us and our schedule.
