Hi! We are planning a trip for 8 days, Saturday - Saturday. Yes, it should be 7 days but I count the first Saturday as a day.:) We are contemplating using the dining plan, it is just myself and my DH I think it is a wash and not a bad idea and he's not so sold yet. We used it the first time we went to WDW and it was the 2 of us and DSD and we had left over meals that we gave to others befor we left. I wanted to get opinions? Should we do this?:confused3

Thanks so much!:disrocks:

My boyfriend and I enjoy the DDP very much. We did feel it paid off the way we used it.
  • We purchased refillable mugs.
  • We ate breakfast at the hotel. Since you don't get a dessert but, a juice, we were able to use our mugs for coffee, have a juice with our meal and use the second beverage option for a bottle of water that came with us to the parks.
  • We had a light snack in the afternoon.
  • We had a reservation for dinner somewhere in the park which was a nice break and end to the evening. Especially since it was just us 2 adults. And he loved that he could order WHATEVER he wanted! Being able to have steak instead of going cheap with chicken or a burger was a big deal for him. It made him very happy on his first trip to WDW!
One day I had made an early lunch TS (really wanted SciFi burger) so we just snacked on granola bars for breakfast with our mugs. Then had a QS meal back at the hotel at the end of the day.
We don't have to worry about wrangling small children around to TS ADRs so maybe that's why we don't have the issues some people have when the say they don't want to run from TS to TS... we only used 1 TS a day so we weren't running.
I don't know if that answered your question but, just giving the way we 2 adults went. :)
Have a great trip!

I love the dining plan and am trying the DxDP for the 1st time in April. I love it because you have all your meals paid for before you go so you don't have to worry about food money. If you like TS meals then it's worth it.

My DH won't go to WDW without the DP, it is a great value if you do it right. We used our snack credits for breakfast. We got muffins,etc. for a snack & brought them back to the room for the morning. As the room had a coffee maker, we had coffee & baked goods. We used the counter credits for lunch & then the TS credit for dinner. We loved doing that.

Thank you so much for your opinions! I think it sounds like a good deal as well so I'm thinkin we're going to do it.

Again! Thanks so much!:goodvibes:thanks::disrocks:

Using the DP made it feel like "Club Med Disney"!! The kids kept saying "...this is FREE??". OK, "free" is not exactly the right definition, but it is wonderful to be "free" of taking out money for every little thing. Totally worth it I think. And if they bring back free dining ......:cloud9:

Some love it and some don't. I've tried regular DDP and QSDP, and I won't get it again (unless it was free). It doesn't save us money, and limits flexibililty. I think if you are a planner, a big eater, and like the idea of having everything paid ahead, then it could be good for you.

This will be our first time on the DDP and we are so looking forward to it. We aren't big eaters but the stress of not spending too much all the time wasn't worth it. Plus, we figured out the the plan was going to cost just a little bit more then what we spent in the past.

My DH and I used the QSDP last March. We loved that we didn't have to agree on what we wanted and share it or argue or whether to get a $4 cookie for dessert. Would not go to WDW without it!:woohoo:
