IS it possible to do dining plan for one day? Or only for 2 days or more and with park tickets. My family is going on a Disney cruise...staying one day at GFV prior to leaving and coming back to villas and going to parks when we return. When we return we will be going to parks and using dining. I know the villas have kitchens but we do like to visit the restaurants.

You must purchase the dining plan for all nights of the reservation. In your case, you can purchase the dining plan for just the reservation after the cruise if that's the only one you want it for. Adding a dining plan to a DVC reservation does not require a ticket purchase.

The very short stays are often the best use and best value of the DP. You must get it for all nights of your stay but for a 1 night stay, just one night. You must get it for everyone in the villa. Park tickets are not required for a DVC points reservation to use the DP. I don't think you'd be able to do this for a CRO cash reservation due to the restrictions anyway. Make dining plans/reservations then look at the menu's and do the math. See if saves you enough money or provides enough extra value for that situation. For a single night, often the best plan is the deluxe plan but in this case it'd depend on when you're arriving and what you decide for dinner the first night. Enjoy your trip.
