We bought the gold plan with our stay because it said that you had a choice of over 125 places to choose from to eat at. I talked to someone I work with after we purchased it and he siad that the dining was only good at the resort that you are staying at.

Is that true?

My fiance and I are honeymooning in the World and are doing so on the Gold Plan. You can eat at all the restaurants in the World with the exception of the restaurants in the Swan & Dolphin and McDonalds. We'll be at the CR for 11 days and here is a somewhat quick run down of our plans: 3 behind the scenes tours (KTTK, Safari, UnDIScovered World); golf lessons, rentals, golf cart, tee time; fishing excursion; parasailing; unlimited boat rentals; and Cirque; and as far as food goes: (for dinners)Citricos, Narcossees, California Grill, Wolf Gang Pucks, Portobellos, Spoodles, Flying Fish, Teppanyaki, Artist Point; (for lunches) Rose & Crown, Restaurant Akershus, Sci-Fi, Wolf Gang Puck, Grand Floridian Cafe, Le Cellier, Beaches & Cream, Brown Derby, Japan in Epcot; (for breakfast) Grand Floridian Cafe, Kona Cafe, Spoodles, Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, CRT, Crystal Palace, Boma, Concourse. (I know, a lot of eating). On top of all that, VIP viewing for Wishes and Illuminations. By the way, we already have all of our reservations/PS's for all of the aforementioned activities. We go in 38 days, so if you'd like I could PM you when I return and let you know how it goes. Anyway, good luck to you and your planning!

Check out this link it explains the Gold Plan in detail and lists the restaurants.

You can eat just about anywhere at WDW on the Gold Plan. My DW and I did this for our 25th anniversary. What was great about it was being able to try restaurants that we'd never been to before because of our budget. Just show your "gold" card and anything on the menu you want, you can get! (Often the servers have recommendations of items not on the menu!)

Just a word of caution: 3 Disney meals a day can be very filling. So when the server offers you that extra filet mignon with your breakfast platter on day 4 ... you may want to loosen your belt a notch or two before you dig in! ;)

Be sure to take advantage of all the extras on the plan. We did several tours; did all the VIP seatings; recreational activities, spa treatment ... the works. You will have a wonderful time!

We've done the Gold Plan on our last several visits-really worth it if you book character breakfasts and a nice sit down meal late in the day. Don't try to do three meals a day-all you end up doing with your time at WDW is eating (which wouldn't be so bad if that's all you intended to do!) The extras are excellent-normally golfing for 4 adults with club rental and driving range would have cost us almost $800 per round-so if you're golfers go for it-it's all included and as many times as you can squeeze it in. Parasailing was around $500 for our family-it was also included. We did wakeboarding $160 per hour, tubing -around the same $. Minigolf was $40+ per round-nice after hours activity. Watermice rentals (I think it was around $22/ 1/2hour x 4 of us)-we would rent by the hour. Surrey bike-alot of fun. Horseback riding-Dinner shows are worth it also - Luau, Mickey Backyard BBQ, Hoop de doo Revue -I think they are around $49 per person. As you can tell we've had several very active 10 day trips! Wouldn't have it any other way-great memories for our whole family.

We did the Gold Plan this past Jan, and if we're lucky we'll do it this Jan.:D If you're active and plan to do a lot, it is possible to save $ with it - we saved around $1000 versus booking separately. We did eat 3 x a day, and managed to survive, plus a few extra pounds;) What we learned - don't fill up on bread/cheap stuff you can get at home - save your precious stomache space for those desserts, and space your meals wisely - we tried to get ours at least 6 hours apart. Enjoy the extras too - tickets to Cirque, tours, parasailing. Have a blast :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Love....love.....love the gold plan. I agree with everything everyone else has said.
My tip......look at the menus and pick some more expensive restaurants. That way if you can't eat 3 meals a day....you kind of make up for it on some of your more expensive meals. Also try to plan your dinners later in the evening. Sit down meals take time so you don't want a 2pm ps for lunch ...probably finish your meal by 3 and then have another at say 6:00pm. After making a few mistakes last time....we won't plan on making our dinner ps's until around 8pm.
Have a great time
Ps we'll be doing the gold plan in Sept....yeah !!!!

I've done the Gold Plan and Silver Plan and thought that the gold plan wasn't worth the money. We did the silver plan and saw Cirque, Hoop-de-doo, Lua, went parasailing, and rented watermice...ate at 2 nice restaurants a day (no counter service for us) and still had wishes left!

We did not eat our $$ worth for breakfast so would just grab something on the way and splurge the rest fo the day!

No it is not true. Don't you just love people at work who haven't a clue and have to throw their two cents in.
