Dining with Shamu Reservation Question

So I called to book Dining with Shamu ressies for late April. When I asked how many people had reserved in front of us the customer service rep said she didn't know. When I explained that since the seating was first booked, first seated it would matter how many people were in front of us, the rep said that wasn't the case. I was told we need to check-in when we arrive at the park and then we will be assigned a dining time. Once we receive our time, then it is first come, first seated - not by when the actual reservation was made. So if we want to sit by the glass she suggested arriving 30 minutes prior to our assigned dining time.

Has anyone had a recent experience with this or was I just fed a line by CS?

She was wrong, I would call back and talk to another person tomorrow. Tables are assigned hours prior, before check in even starts. I'm not sure if you have dined there before, but you are led to a table after check in that has the exact amount of silverware and cups for the people in your party.

Three different CS reps and the same answer from all of them. They don't have access to how many people are booked ahead of us, BUT if I call back one month to the date of the dine they will tell me my assigned time (right now it just says dinner 4:30-6:30) in the reservation confirmation. I'll request poolside at that time as well.
