Has anyone here dined at Walt Disney World with a peanut allergy? We are going in October and my son is allergic to peanuts and peanut oil etc. Forgive me if this has been asked before but I tried all kinds of search options to find more information on this but nothing came up.

Thanks for any information you can give me!

Amy

I know that at all the TS restaurants, you can request peanut free food. I believe the chef usually comes out to talk with you. Try asking this question over at the DISabilities board--you might get a quicker answer.

Check out the disABILITIES! board. There's a lot of helpful information on Disney and food allergies. The FAQ sticky thread has contact info for special dietary requests as well as tips for handling allergies at WDW. Two of my kids have peanut and tree nut allergies. We've never had a reaction at Disney. They're terrific at accomodating food allergies. Make sure you let the CM know about your son's allergy when you make ADRs. At each TS restaurant the chef will visit your table and discuss safe menu options. At buffets, he/she will guide you through the line pointing out o.k. foods. It really takes the worry out of eating and makes for a wonderful overall vacation experience. :hippie:

On that sticky thread, there is an email address for Brenda Bennett, she is the contact person for information on food allergies. Last year I was tested for a few different things and she was very quick at forwarding all of the information needed.

Definitely email Brenda Bennett. She will send you a list of safe food, etc. You will also want to note on your ADR's that you are traveling with someone with nut allergies. We are taking our first trip to The World in May, and one of the main reasons I chose Disney is the excellent reputation they have for accomodating food allergies. My son has multiple food allergies, so that fact that I can actually have a vacation from cooking was enough to sell me! --Katie

Hi
My one son has a severe peanut allergy and my other son has a tree nut allergy. Disney World is an awesome place for food allergies they are very accommodating. They are very careful and through. When making ADR's always tell them about the peanut allergy, so they can note it. The chef will come and talk to you regarding what your child can and can not eat. If you have any questions you can PM anytime:)
