We took DD to Disney last year and a few months prior we found out that she was allergic to peanuts and we have been keeping her away from tree nuts as well.

So we did not have any problems last year. However, since we've come back I have been educating myself more and more about her allergy. I have found that buffets are NOT a good idea with an allergy as cross contamination may occur. Last time we did buffet style chef's walked me around and pointed out what was ok, what was not. But in hindsight how do I know someone didn't use the tong used for an unsafe dish on the safe chicken nuggets?

So do you think it would be too much to ask the chefs if they could make a special meal for DD?

Also, we are scheduled for Le Celier, do they have items like chicken nuggets, do you think they will accommodate her?

Finally, what should I do @ CS meals? We stuck to the chicken nugget, pizza, pasta, but I just feel uncomfy because I did not prepare it.

I have also heard that Disney has a new system with FA, is this true?

my peanut/tree nut allergic son has been to wdw 8 times w/only one problem... and that was the buffet b'fast at boma, where a chef said something was safe and it wasn't...

that incident aside, we have had great chefs go outof their way to cater to my son at nearly every restaurant... the chef (allan) at chef mickey's and the chef (ken) at the plaza restaurant were *THE* best! places where i was left feeling a little less than comfortable were cape may cafe and 9 dragons... everywhere else i felt more than safe, just not super catered to...

counter-service can be a bit trickier, but simply ask to see "the book" (and likely a manager) to double check what is and is not safe for your child...

disney now carries some divvies brand baked goods which are safe and that's great...

The FAQs for the disAbilities board has a ton of info on peanut allergies and general dietary questions. There is a special number to contact.

Taht will let you see what foods are served in a restaurant. There is no guarantee but WDW staff are very good at avoiding cross contamination. At CS you will be given a big book of ingredients to check. Writing WDW at that number listed in FAQs, first link, will give you a list of safe foods.

At buffets they will even bring you a plate of fresh food or food made in the kitchen. They have a lot of nut free foods at the parks and not just fast food. I am past my nap time so am a little forgetful.

I am so jumbled, sorry. Thta is the WDW number to contact to get everything you need for special diets.
Also on reservations and ADR you need to mention any food allergies. Sometimes the chefs have to purchase special food for guests.

We traveled to WDW with my grandson (who was about your DD's age at the time) who had a significant peanut allergy. We noted it on all ADR's. At all TS restaurants the chef came out and spoke to us.
At CRT princess breakfast they brought him a special basket of pastries, since many are made off site and they can not guarantee no cross contamination. They also made him special pancakes, no risk at all.
We felt safe the whole time. We did not have any problems at all, although we were prepared.
I do not think you need to expect more than they do for all the other kids with peanut and tree nut allergies. They are very attuned to the issue. You should be fine.
Have a Great Trip.
