I am getting ready to make a dining reservation or 2 for my late June trip with DW and soon to be 4yo DS. I haven't heard much talk about Chip and Dale's breakfast at the GC or Minnie and friend inside Disneyland. Any feedback about those? What is the cost? (Couldn't find specifically on the Disneyland website.) Is Goofy's Kitchen best done for dinner?

I vote for Minnie and friends! We ate there last month. The food was fresh and plentiful. I like that they have someone dish up the hot foods so that other guests arent touching my food (personal thing I guess). The characters were great. We saw: Minnie, Tigger, Eeyore, Pooh, Hook, Chip and Dale and the Fairy Godmother. Tigger and Minnie both played with my sons Buzz gun. The Fairy GM sat down and held the kids in her lap. Some characters came by more the once. Just a fantastic time! (price is about $25 per adult and $13 per child- For two adults and two kids was just under $75 with tax).

GC, from what I hear, has better food. You can either order off the menu (most $9-12 per entree) or have the buffet (about $25 per adult/ $13 per child over 3) However, the character interaction is more low key, and there is not as many characters.

My family is a bunch of characters, does that count? :rotfl2:

We went last year, and it was our first time as a family. On a whim, I called one night and booked breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen the next morning. We had to go to a little later in the morning, but that was fine for us.
It's buffet style, and it was wonderful. They did start putting lunch things out, too, so I guess they kinda transition from breakfast to lunch. For characters, we met Sleeping Beauty, The Mad Hatter, Max, Goofy, Chip and Dale, is who I can think of off the top of my head. That was our first time going to a character breakfast, and we had a blast.
For prices, I want to say it was about $70, for 2 adults and 1 child. Ds was only 19 months at the time and we didn't need to pay for him.
This time, we have paid for 2 character meals already, and I am thinking I will add Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast the day we leave. It was just too much fun!

I like Storyteller's Cafe, although there is not the character interaction that you'll have with Goofy's Kitchen or the Plaza. It's Chip & Dale. They come around to the tables and in the past they've done a conga line through the restaurant with the kids.
I'm not a big fan of buffets so we order off the menu.
This time we're going to try Lilo & Stitch's breakfast at PP.

Thanks to everyone for sharing the information about your own experiences with the meals. We really enjoy character meals at WDW, and now look forward to the ones at DL. We are doing Goofy's Kitchen on arrival night, Lilo and Stitch at Paradise Pier the next morning, Ariels Grotto for lunch on the 3rd day, and then finish the trip with breakfasts at Storytellers Cafe and then the Plaza on our final day in the parks.........
