Dining with 16 year old

Made some dinner reservations for our June trip, and had 16 year pick a few places that sounded good to her:

ESPN, Rain Forest in AK, La Cellier, Mama Melrose before Fantasmic.

I picked Kona Cafe and Whispering Canyon Cafe for two breakfast mornings.

Though about taking boat from DTD to POR or POFQ for breakfast another morning.

Any suggestions from others where a teenager would enjoy eating would be greatly appreciated! Maybe one or two more nice sitdowns and the rest counter service. Thanks again!

My kids and nieces/nephews all like Hollywood & Vine in MGM. It is just a buffet, so I don't know exactly why, but they all like it a lot.

Also at MGM, they get a kick out of watching Mom/Dad get yelled at by server.

I would definitely vote for a breakfast at POR, Boatwright's Breakfasts are the best I've ever had. The Sweet Potato Pancakes with Pecan (I think pecan, some nut) Butter and syrup were heavenly. The Blueprint Omlette is outta this world. You know how some restaurants charge extra for extra ingredients, on this one you can order everything at no extra charge. It's huge and there are great hash browns with it plus toast. I think if I remember correctly the ingredients you had to choose from were ham, sausage, bacon, fresh tomatos, onions, bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms, swiss, american, and cheddar cheese. You could choose any combo or all. There may be other ingredients I left out. They also have a Stuffed French Toast (Cresent City I think) it is filled with bananas and covered in strawberry sauce. I haven't had it because bananas upset my tummy and no way do I want to run around WDW with an upset tummy. POFQ does not have a TS restaurant, but from what I understand they have beingets, I don't know much about them, but they are a New Orleans fav.
At MGM, my kids really liked 50's Prime Time Cafe. You have to stand in the corner if you put your elbows on the table for example. Some tables were totally into the act, others were low key and the servers seemed to pick up on that. It is good "normal" food too, like Fried Chicken and Pot Roast.

I think BOMA is a good choice. Even "cool" teenagers would like to have a wander out and check out the savannah. Plus the food is amazing, and lots of African artifacts to look at (even if they don't read the info... )

All good choices. My 17 year old loves Boma's. Kids at this age like trying new things and walking around the AKL and seeing and reading all about the animals and African artifacts is a great experience IMHO for kids. My kids love Prime Time too in MGM. I don't think you can go wrong, all Disney restaurants offer such great experiences.

I allowed my DD (15) to choose what type of food she wanted in Epcot--to try international stuff. She liked the Teppanyaki restaurant in Japan (but then, she loves Shogun at home). She looked up the menus on line and made her choices....some for fum, some for the food. Planet Hollywood was at the top of her list--I think just so she could tell her friends that she'd been there.

We actually ended up with too many restaurants and had to narrow our choices.

That's a good idea! Set the kids loose on allears.net for an hour. Kids that age are so internet savvy, they'll end up telling you where to eat, no doubt! Didn't think of that one!

Our 16 y.o. girl loves LeCellier, Cape May Cafe, O'Hana, 50's Prime Time, Restaurant Marrakesh and Chef Mickey's. Her favorite CS restaurants are Yorkshire County Fish & Chips in the UK Pavilion and Pecos Bill's in the MK.

My DD almost 16 picked 1900 Park Fair for her 1 and only sit down meal this next trip which is one we have never done. But then due to her illness she doesn't remember anything past Oct 03 when she got ill so everything at disney gonna be new to her.

My turning-16 on our December trip dd picked Yachtsman's on one end of the spectrum and the hot dog stand on the Boardwalk for a completely different meal! She's so weird - just like me!
