I want to give a brief review of our dining experience a couple weeks ago.
We ate at DTD Rainforest Cafe on our checkin day. Chris was our server and we were seated 10 minutes early. Chris explained the menu and answered all of our questions prior to our ordering.We have never eaten there and we will for sure eat there again. Our meals: 2 pasta dishes excellant and lots of it, 1 child's mac and cheese with garlic bread, 1 steak with smashed garlic potatoes, the steak was fantastic and cooked perfect for me. For dessert we shared the Volcano and my, was it fantastic.. We were full and we couldn't eat it all
Day 1-Chef Mickey's..good buffet food we were seated 15 minutes early, Robert seated us and he was very pleasant, Carol our server was great
Day 2 Crystal Palace great buffet food We were seated on time, Eneda was a delight as our server..she cater to the girls and I appreciated it. She kept my coffee filled
Also on day 2 my 5 year old DGD and I had tea at Garden View Tea at the GF. We were seated on time and I had a pixie dust sprinkled. You see my DGD was in one of her "moods" and I couldn't get her to answer any questions or to decide what she wanted and she wouldn't even speak to our server.
After a couple of minutes, Jenna,not our server, but she came over to speak with Mia and she talked to her for a couple of minutes and then presented Mia a long stem rose. Well, that was all that was needed and Mia sat up and acted like the Princess she was suppose to be. Our tea was awesome. Mia is a very good eater and she ate her "tea" sandwiches that consisted of: peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese and tuna fish. She drank her "sprite" and for her dessert she chose from the beautiful plate a lemon square tart and a chocolate mousse filled eclair..she licked her fingers
After my sandwiches and the white raisin scone with strawberry jam, I had a beautiful bowl of strawberries and cream..Mia also shared the scone and had a couple of bites of the strawberries and cream. To end our time, our server presented Mia a cupcake on a Mickey plate and written in chcocolate was" Happy 6th Birthday Princess Mia" Mia didn't know what to do..she smiled and she did blow the candle out. We took the cupcake with us.
Day 3: The Plaza for dinner--Auroa(spelled wrong) she was not good as our server. She rushed us from the beginning. We were seated 10 minutes early to top the whole thing off. She even asked about the tip!!! Let me just say, if I didn't have the girls with me, I would have left little tip. As it was, I bring my tip envelopes filled with me and I took money out of hers!! We had tuna fish and fries, toasted cheese with fries and grapes, meatloaf with mashed potatoes, and a turkey club..all delicious
We did have dessert and the brownie sundae was shared, mini chocolate chip cookies with milk and a mint chocolate chip ice cream with hot fudge sauce..mmm good
Day 4 Whispering Canyon...needless to say, Nikki our server was awesome
We were seated 15 minutes early..We had entertainment from the get go and our food was super good
We had 2 steaks with salad, pot roast with potatoes, childs cheeseburger..food was very good, I could have had another steak if there was time For dessert we took with us: 1 carmel apple pie, cheesecake with berries, American beauty chocolate cake and 2 chocolate chip cookies..dessert was very good, but the cake was ok..
Day 5 Tony's Town Square---NOT good
3 spag and meat?? I didn't see any meat..not really sauce either..looked like chunky tomatoes with juice
I did have a special cake ordered for the 2 18 year old girls and it was delivered and was very good Ann was our server and she was very good and so very helpful...she was patient and so very excited when she presented the girls with their cake. In fact, she asked the tables near us to help sing Happy Birthday to them
Hopefully this will help you in any decisions you need to make before your trip. I know that everyone has different expectations and I understand..this is our opinion on our meals. I take the 4x6 card that has our ressie confirmation number on it, along with the time of our ressie. Then, on the reverse side, I write down, server name, time seated, how we were greeted and what we ate...Good luck with whatever you decide to eat
