dining times open when calendar posted?

Many restaurants are not making ARs for later than 5:30 (Mama's, CP) in october because the hours are not out.

Will they open up their hours right when the schedule for october is announced or should I wait to call?

They don't necessarily open up the reservation times when the monthly hours are posted. They may open them up a month ahead, or a few weeks ahead, there's no set procedure, I'm afraid.

For instance, I wanted a ressie at Tony's Town Square the night they are running Spectromagic at 9pm. I want to sit on the porch (which they cannot gaurantee - the whole thing's a crap shoot. LOL!). Conceirge could only get me 5:45pm before the August hours were posted. Once the hours were posted, I asked them to change it, and they said they couldn't get anything later. I called Disney dining, and they also said they couldn't do anything later than 5:45.

I called back twice after that, and this past weekend, Disney dining changed my ressie to 7:30pm.

So, you may have to call a few times, but closer to your departure!

I agree about calling closer to your departure. The CM gave me the same info.

That's strange... we're going first week of October and I made my ressies at 90 days and got the times I wanted; i.e. 6:00, 5:30, 7:30, 7:15, 6:30

You can at most restaurants but there are a few that only book certain evening hours until a 30 days or less out. I know I'm waiting on H&V for a later time but can't get past 4:30 right now. They told me to call closer to the departure day. All of my other restaurants allowed late evening bookings but a select few do not.
