Hi! We set sail on Friday. We booked late (about a month out) and were assigned the late dining. We have an 8 year old and he definitely won't make it. We put in a request for early dining but we're so close now that I'm wondering if it's just not going to happen. What's the latest you've seen these requests come through?

If it doesn't change, we will try the MDR and see how it goes. Otherwise, we are ok with Festival of Food! Just hoping for the best. :lovestruc

We have taken 3 DCL cruises in the last 2 years and booked relatively late for all of them. Also requested to be moved to early dining and did not get it on any of them. YMMV

Don't forget you can ask once you get on-board. On the Fantasy and Dream it's usually at the entrance to Enchanted Garden, Don't remember where it is on the Wish, Destiny and Treasure or on the Magic and Wonder.

I think it’s Triton’s lounge on the Wish class ships. You can ask when you get onboard.

A lot of folks here with younger children who were FORCED to take late seating have become converts to late seating because they found it DOES work. Snacks and naps help.
As west coasters on an east coast time cruise with children involved in after school sports at home, we had the opposite problem. Late seating was like eating early for our kids bodies. With Little League and Soccer, dinner was rarely before 730 pm at home, which would be 10:30 pm on the ship. Disney was our kids second cruise. The first was on HAL which still had a midnight buffet, and our kids REALLY missed the midnight buffet. We used room service to fill the gap, but it just wasn't the same.
