Hi everyone! I am planning a suprise at Christmas for my wife and 3 year old daughter with a 6 day 5 night trip to Disney:thumbsup2. So with that being said we have 15 CS and 15 TS meals under the dining plan. I have a few reservations but uncertain about a couple of days. I want to eat somewhere good, fun and convenient to where we will be that day. Here are my plans:

March 27-April 1
Day 1, driving, check in at 3 pm, settle in at CSR and go to MK for ADR at CRT for 8:05 then watch shows at night

Day 2 Epcot, no ADR yet, see illuminations at 9:00

Day 3 AK, no ADR yet,

Day 4 MK, no ADR yet

Day 5 HS, Booked the Fantasmic Pkg with a H & V ADR at 4:30 (thought about changing this to Mama Melrose.)

Any suggestions from you pros would be greatly appreciated. We will have our own car but may take the bus when needed. I just want to eat at the best places under our dining plan. Thanks again!

We went this past February with our DD4. We found character meals to be fun and pretty convienent most of the time. Great photo ops with the characters. So here is what I'd suggest:

Day 1: You have CRT so that will eat up 6 of your TS credits. Not sure if you'll need a full meal prior to that...maybe use a snack credit or two.

Day 2: I would do lunch at Sunshine Seasons (3 CS credits) and dinner at the counter service place in the country of your choice in the World Showcase (3 more CS credits).

Day 3: We did a late breakfast at Tusker House (3 TS credits)- it's a character meal and it was a lot of fun. Then late lunch/dinner at Flame Tree BBQ counter service (3 CS credits).

Day 4: I would do a Crystal Palace meal...breakfast, lunch, or dinner which ever you prefer (3 TS credits). Lots of choices for CS in MK...for a fun choice, I'd do Cosmic Ray's (3 CS credits). Lots of choices for stuff to eat and there's entertainment.

Day 5: Your Fantasmic package (3 TS credits). For counter service, I haven't tried anything there and I haven't read good things about the CS at HS. So I would recommend going to the Pepper Market at CSR, especially if you are planning a midday break.

Whatever you decide, have a great time!

at Epcot I would do Teppan Edo but Tutto Italia or Via Napoli would be good choices as would San Anegl Inn

at DHS, I would definately switch to Mama Melroses. Its much better than H&V IMO.

at DAK, I would jump over to the AKL for Boma. Its fantastic. For CS there, I like Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ. Tusker House is a good idea if you want to stay in the park

at MK, I would also hop on the monorail and go to 'ohana or the Kona Cafe which are superior to anything at MK

We loved the TS restaurants in Epcot. I would suggest trying one of the WS restaurants. Our favorites this past trip were LeCellier in Canada, Tutto Italia in Italy, and Chefs de France in France. If you go to Chefs for lunch, Remy from Ratatouille (small animatronic) comes around and is very cute. Biergarten buffet in Germany is also good and fun with an oompah band and people dancing. There is a lot to choose from on the buffet and the food is really good. My son is a super pickey eater and he loves it. I would suggest TS for lunch because we found that the restaurant is not backed up at lunch time so you don't wait as long to be seated, it is a good break for your little one, it is easier to know where you will be at that time of day, it is easier to get an ADR, and if your little one has a melt down in the evening you won't miss your ADR if you cut your evening short and go back to the resort. Use 3 cs for dinner where ever you are.

I would eat cs lunch at AK because they have some really good cs there. Flame Tree BBQ is great if you like ribs and chicken and my family also really likes Pizzafari for pizza and Italian sandwiches. I don't know where you are staying, but AK is not open as long as the other parks, so you could always eat at your resort food court (cs) for dinner and have a more low key night. Or, if your 3 yr. old is still able to keep going for a while, I HIGHLY recommend taking her to Downtown Disney for the evening. They have really cool stores there with a lot of hands-on displays. Don't miss the toy store with lots of Potato Head parts to create with, the Lego store with full size Lego creations and lots of "work stations" to build, and the World of Disney Store with tons of Disney stuff. There are statues all over DTD for nice photo ops. The best CS restaurant on property (IMHO) is Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace at DTD. Go early because they get pretty busy. It is like eating TS for CS credits. The food is varied (pizza, salmon, sandwiches) and delicious. You order at a counter and then a waitress brings your food.

I would use my last TS at Crystal Palace for breakfast the next day at MK. It has Pooh characters, the food is great (all 3 yr. olds like Pooh and breakfast, right?) and the restaurant is bright and pretty. We did not care for the dinner buffet there, but rated the breakfast buffet as one of the two best restaurants we ate at. Plus, later in the day after breakfast wears off a little, you can use snack credits to get all sorts of great stuff. I totally recommend the ice cream sandwiches from Main Street Bakery and Dole Whips from Adventureland. Then eat a later CS meal where ever you are. Columbia Harbour House in MK has fantastic fish, shrimp, tuna sandwiches and chicken fingers. Cosmic Rays has beef and cheddar sandwiches and lots of other things while Sonny Eclipse sings (animatronic).

Lastly, I would eat CS lunch (or breakfast) at Starring Rolls in HS, which has bagels, cupcakes, sandwiches, etc. We also really like Toy Story Pizza Planet for CS at HS and your 3 yr. old would probably get a kick out of the area. The pizza comes with salad, which is nice and the pizza is regular Disney pizza. Then you can use up some snack credits at Starring Rolls.

Remember, ice water is free at all CS restaurants for hydration during the day. That DIS tip saved us tons of money last vacation.

Have a great time!!:yay::yay::yay:

Teppan Ados in Japan in Epcot is a must. It is all round a fabulous experience.
If you have time to eat at a resort I would recommend "The Polynesian Resort" in a restaurant called "O'Hanas". Another amazing experience. Hope this helps a little.....enjoy!!!

Oh.... another excellent place to eat in Epcot is Le Cellier.....in Canada.

At this point, your choices may actually be a bit limited..I'm checking avaiolability and will let you know what I think is best of what has openings....

lol...nevermind...
I read Christmas surprise..and thought you were going at Christmas!

We got 7:45 ADR's for La Hacirenda (the new Mexico place) and were having dessert as Illuminations began - the food was good - all in all I would do it again...they will not grant requests for window seats since everyone wants one, but it seemed that most tables had a good view, and by the time the fireworks started, there were actually empty tables you could move to....
for AK, if you're willing to take a slight detour, I'd finish my day and then go to Kidani for dinner at Sanaa..otherwise, Tusker House is a very good buffet.
for MK, if your kids like the Poh characters, Crystal Palace is a good choice - I also like (not love) Liberty Tree...after that, I'd think about hopping the monorail to one of the great resort places (for me, that would include almost anything EXCEPT Chef Mickey)...we just tried The Wave for the first time, it got very mixed reviews..I was very pleased with it...but for kids, Ohana's maybe a better pick.
I definitely prefer Mama Melrose to H&V!!!

We just returned from our 4th visit in 2 years to WDW. We love the parks, but we also absolutely LOVE Downtown Disney. Since it is free we go 2-3 times. The stores are amazing! We made a night trip to WDW for the first time this last Oct. It is a fun, laid back stroll.

On this last visit, during one of our late afternoon trips to Downtown Disney, we finally went to T-Rex, it is not on the dining plan and it is pricey, but we absolutely loved it. The food was great and the inside is amazing. We have made going to T-Rex a permanent stop! And if you are wondering, Rain Forest Cafe vs T-Rex, been to both and if you do just one, do T-Rex.

Try and go during off hours (late afternoon, late evening, etc) and not on a Friday or Saturday night. Make reservations, which are really being put on the wait list early.

Places that my 3yr old son loved when he went to Disney:
Tusker House breakfast buffet - AK
Crystal Palace - MK
Hollywood and Vine character meal (breakfast or lunch) - DHS - great character interaction and sing/dance ever 20 mins and a musical parade
IF this is your child first trip, you might get to stay out late ever night. We tend to make our ADR for breakfast or lunch and some dinner (but some dinner we tend to cancel b/c our son was so tired that he rather get room service and rest up until the next day)
