We will be staying at Swan for a night in between our WDW trip. I want some nearby restaurants since we may not have a car. Any suggestions within Swan/Dolphin?

Or shall we walk over to Yatch Club / Boardwalk?

Hello Flower,

I don't have a budget in mind, maybe $30-40 per person. We are on DDP, but may consider pay OOP since I think some S&D restaurants are not on the DDP list. My top preference would be within walking distance.

I'm not sure if my family wants a big feast, but something special would be a plus. DW suggests Yatchman Steakhouse, but I personally would prefer staying away from steak (note: we already had ADR on Le Cellier and Kona).

I am looking for a place for lunch (preferrably counter-service) and a place for dinner.

None of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants participate in the DDP, however-

Il Mulino is Italian, new and only open for dinner. It's a branch of a New York restaurant, so can be a bit 'spendy'.

FRESH is open for breakfast and lunch, options here are buffet or menu.

BLUE ZOO is also dinner only- very good and pricey too. We do salads and apps, and it's enough.

SHULA's is available, and is known for steak, but there are other options on the menu.

Keep in mind that Boardwalk is within walking distance, and I highly recommend Spoodles and Flying Fish both. They are DDP participants. And the Beach Club has Cape May Buffet and Beaches and Cream.

There's plenty for all- you just need to decide where you want to go. For lunch is Yacht Club Galley- kind of like the Plaza Restaurant. Table Service, but I've heard many good things about it.

If you need more info, I'll be watching!

Thanks again Flower

We have dined in Flying Fish during our last trip. The Mahi Mahi was so yummy :goodvibes

I guess we will have a light lunch at the food court (Tubbi's Buffeteria), hopefully not too crowded.

For dinner, we have the followings in mind, any suggestions?
1). Spoodles (use DDP)
2). Blue Zoo (pay OOP)
3). Yachtsman Steakhouse (use DDP)

I personally prefer Blue Zoo (seafood) since even if I don't feel eating a lot, I can get a Clam Chowder and some appetizers. Not sure what the rest of my family prefers.

Walking from Swan, is Spoodles or Yachtsman further away?

Spoodles and Yachtsman are about equal distance from the Swan.

I prefer Spoodles, although a bit loud when busy. Yachtsman burned us on our last meal with them- so it's a matter of preference.

For a special evening though, I'd do Blue Zoo- with Yachtsman coming up behind. I know you're looking for something really close.

Or if you like sushi, try Kimono's. I know- another choice to have to make!

Have fun, whatever you do.........

I'd have to agree with Flower's assessment of your short list of choices. Also, keep in mind that Yachtsman is 2 TS credits on the DDP. I'll add that Il Mulino is comparable in price to BlueZoo. We just tried it in November, and it was outstanding.

Robert-

Did you post a review on Il Mulino? I'd love to read it- we totally loved Palio, and want to feel the same about the replacement.

biggroofy-

Be sure to post your decision!

What a fantastic review!

Have you ever thought about being a food critic??

I read it to my DH, and he said "now THAT's a review!"

You've made me want to give it a try.

Thanks!

Thanks Flower!

I hope your visit (and food) was as good as the night we were there. If we had another night available on our trip, we probably would have went back again. Be sure to check out the layout and design of the interior. We thought it really complimented the menu, and the dining experience.

Please be sure to post a review once you visit. I'd like to hear your take on the new place.

Rob
