Hello everyone,

I’m curious to what some common dining combinations are for the Magic on a 4-night cruise (like R,AP,L,R). I’m thinking about requesting a specific order, but wanted to get an idea of what the usual orders are first. TIA!

Orders of rotations can change so I usually will - if I bother with a request - have it something like one of the following (for the classics or Dream Class):

Animator's first night
-or-
Animator's on Pirate Night

That covers any potential dining rotation change. (And whatever you are in for Pirate Night will be your repeated MDR on a 4-night so "MDR X on Pirate Night" or "MDR X twice" is the same thing for a 4-night.

(Animator's is my fave, so that is why it's my request - if I were making it - for Dream or Classic Class.)

Your dining room will be the same the 2nd and 3rd night. Last month on magic we had, Animators palate, Rapunzel, Rapunzel(pirate night), lumieres

I don't know if they're accepting requests for rotations, but you can't build your own.

Generally the rotation on a 4 night cruise is 1223. So, for the Magic it would be
ARRL
RLLA
LAAR

That said it can vary. I agree with Dug - if you have a specific dining room you want on a specific night, that's what to ask for and let DCL figure out which rotation will work for that.

Anyone know what the rotation is like on the Magic with a 5 night cruise? Or are they only starting with 5 night cruises this Fall (2023)?

I did read you have to choose from an existing combination, so thank you for confirming that. Hopefully I can put in a request, but it's not the end of the world if not.

Again, while you cannot build your own rotation, there are fixed rotations that can change. So rather than requesting a rotation - where whoever is doing the assigning has no clue what part of that rotation was most important - it would be better to request what you want: a certain MDR first night OR a certain MDR on Pirate Night OR a certain MDR on formal/semi-formal night OR a certain MDR multiple times. That way the assigned knows what you want and can do a better job trying to meet it.

Yes, that’s what I was going to do. Request just one certain MDR. Thanks for the help!

I put in a request for our Wish cruise next month because I was able to get Palo dinner but it's on our last night. I used that chat feature on DCL website and CM was very helpful. Since our cruise is a 4 night and there are 3 dining rotations, one has to be repeated and the cast member told me that it's repeated twice at beginning of cruise. So I requested: Marvel, Marvel, 1923. Arendelle not that important to us. I'd rather do 1923, 1923 then Marvel but daughter loves Marvel and that's the main reason we're going.

The rotation is what it is, the only difference is what restaurant you start with. You will not be able to pick and choose what restaurants you want to go to each night as the whole ship moves on the same rotational schedule to keep the same dining staff and table number. Unless you have reservations for a certain night at the adult restaurants and you REALLY want to see the AP show, it really does not matter the rotation.

If the 4 night rotation is like it was in January it would be:
23-marvel-marvel-arendelle
Or alternatively
Marvel-arendelle-arendelle-23
Or what we had which was arendelle-23-23-marvel

We had pirate menu on our second night at repeated restaurant

Went with Marvel/Marvel/1923/for go Arendelle because CM told me restaurant repeated twice day one and day two. Thanks for letting me know. Perhaps I should contact DCL.
