I appreciate all the people who wrote reviews that I used I thought I'd repay the favor. I am not a writer so don't expect much entertainment value....
Value was based on the $38.00 (approx) cost per person per day for the DDP
Arrival Day-Saturday, bounced over to Epcot to get in the Disney frame of mind. Dinner at Coral Seas.
Wifey-Lobster soup, Steak, Chocolate wave; soup-excellent!; steak-ok, it was cooked properly just a little on the tough side; chocolate wave-got it to go, made an excellent breakfast
Me-Lobster soup, Mahi Mahi, Chocolate wave; soup-excellent; Mahi Mahi-WAY to salty! to the point I had a hard time finishing it coscous coscous was the same way, also got the wave to go-she ate it for breakfast also (teach me to sleep in)
Waiter-good
Cost was $105-2 TS charges on DDP so made out like bandits.
Will we return? maybe-love the atmosphere but the food left a lot to be desired.
Sunday-lunch at MK, we both got a couple of hot dogs, large chips and bottled water from one of the roving cart vendors. Actually very good 'dogs and was just enough to tide us over for dinner.
Cost-about $20; used 2 counter services
Dinner- Le Cellier
Wifey-Cheese soup, maple glazed filet w/ mashed potatoes brulee sampler (vanilla and maple brulees). Soup-FABULOUS along with lots of pretzel bread; filet-PERFECT, fork tender, cooked correctly, potatoes...YUMMY!!!; brulee's-she loved the maple but didn't like the vanilla (not that it was bad-just didn't appeal to her taste buds)
Me-Cheese soup, mushroom filet, brulee sampler. Cheese soup-just was great as I remembered it along with LOTS of sourdough bread, filet-also perfectly cooked, wonderful flavor-only prob was I ask for mashed potatoes not realizing the filet was not stuffed with the mushrooms-they were in the risotto (not prob); brulee-loved them both but traded my maple for wifes vanilla. A happy wife make for a more enjoyable evening
Waiter-below average, not very observant when we needed refills and had to ask each time
Cost-$103; 2 TS-- yup.... killed them again on the costs!
Would we return? YES-our favorite place to eat
Monday-lunch at MGM; Flatbread Grill.
Wifey-ChileCheese hot dogs, chips, cheesecake and bottled water. It was all ok except the cheesecake wasn't as good as I make at home.
Me-Bar-b-que, chips, cheesecake and bottled water. 'The 'Q was really good!
Cost-$25.00; 2 CS meals used
Dinner-Chef's De France (note-we ate there once before and said never again-we decided to give it another go)
Wifey-lobster bisque, chicken, bottled water and no desert (to full). Lobster bisque on the first taste seemed good but after a few more bites the lobster flavor was to overpowering (and no lobster in it); chicken was ok, veggies left a lot to be desired-potatoes were at best luke warm
Me-lobster bisque, filet, potatoes and green beans, cream brulee for dessert. Bisque-agreed with wifey-to strong, filet-slighty over cooked but not enough to send back, nice and tender but it had almost no flavor! (I thought it may have been just me but wife tried some and agreed). Green beans were to tough to eat. Brulee was ok but not as good as Canada's
Waiter-poor, had to ask for more bread several times, he hardly ever around and for some reason he would not put ice in our water glasses even after asking multiple times
Cost-about $95.00; 2 TS used
Would we return-no, to many other places to try
Tuesday-Ak, lunch at a coffee shop/bakery. We both had a pastry and water
Cost-4 snack credits
Dinner-Fultons Crab House
Wifer and I both had lobster bisque, 1 1/2 pounds of Crab claws, no desert. We both loved the entire meal. Not any complaints about anything
Waiter-excellent without being obtrusive. Anticipted our needs, did not rush us and seemed truely concerned that we had an excellent meal
Cost-$175 paid OOP
Would we return? ABSOLUTELY!! It's not cheap but sure is good
Wed-MGM (to do a few more thrill rides); today we just never had time for lunch
Dinner-Yachtmans Steak House. We had extra TS credits and choose here to try.
Wifey-lobster bisque-excellent! better than the Living Seas
Me-Diver scallops-FABULOUS, perfectly cooked, incredbile flavors.
We shared the Chateaubriand, cooked to perfection, fork tender, lots of flavor, mashed potatoes were great, mushrooms were yummy. I had brulee which was very tasty, she was to full.
Waiter-very good, no complaints of any kind
Cost-$135.00-4 TS used.
Would we return? No, there was nothing wrong with the meal but it was not as good as Le Cellier which only cost 2 TS
Thursday-Epcot lunch Electric umbrella
We both had burgers, fries and water-it was ok, not great but not horrible
Cost-$25.00 used 2 CS
Dinner-Le Cellier
Only difference from before was I tried the tomato stack-it was very nice but I don't think I liked it as much as the cheese soup.
Waiter-this waiter was excellent! Much much better than before-when my steak came out well done he was very upset and immediately took care of it (I'd have hated to be that cook!!) he seemed to take it personal that the cook screwed up even tho his tip was already set. Guess he heard I tip more for good service
Cost-$110, 2 TS used
Would we return? DUH!!! OF COURSE
Saturday- we were meeting some friends who recently moved to the Orlando area, we had planned on treating them to lunch since we had 6 CS left. The parks were insane crowded and it was getting hot so we did the 'drink around the world tour' instead
(and it was wonderful fun)
Dinner-Rose and Crown
Wifey-can't remember what it was called but it was a Salmon spread which was very good, and fish and chips also excellent
Me-mushrooms (to die for), Steak and Fish, the fish was wonderful but the steak was a little tough; after all the filets we'd had I guess we were spoiled. Desert was Bass Ale's
Waitress-fabulous, never had to ask for anything and was always watching us
Cost-$75.00 2 TS used
Would we return? Yes-it is a great place to eat and drink.
We also used many of our snack credits for water through out the week.
We paid about $530 for the two of us on the Dining Plan and we ate more than $700 worth of food! AND we still had CS and snack credit left.
We were on a 'adults only trip' and had an incredible time. It was the first time we could go and do what WE wanted to do, see what WE wanted to see and eat whatever WE wanted to eat.
Some people back home looked at us strange when we told them where we were going but it only showed their ignorance as to what Disney can be.
WOW-this got long
