I went to the World this week with my college roommate for a 5 night stay. Trip was awesome as crowds weren't bad and the dining was awesome. For breakfast we usually grabbed bagels and juice at the parks. Had good lunches at Columbia Harbour House and Flame Tree Bbque. On with the dinners and one sit-down breakfast.
Teppanyaki
Excellent meal. We both had the salad with ginger dressing to start. My roommate had the filet and chicken and also added shrimp for an extra charge. I had filet and shrimp. The chef was incredibly funny, spelling stuff out with the food and poking fun at me for using a fork. Overall the meat, vegetables, and rice were great. 5/5 rating
Mama Melrose
New place for me and it was a great meal. We started with the calamari with spicy marinara. Good stuff. Salads were good. We both had spicy italian sausage with rigatoni pasta and peppers. We asked for the spicy marinara sauce on the dish and they allowed it. The food was spicy just like we wanted it. Overall awesome meal and reasonable prices. 4.5/5
Nine Dragons
I love this place. We shared the sampler appetizer which comes with two dumplings, a spring roll, and some other dumpling like thing. Very good. For entrees, we shared the General Tso's Chicken and spicy beef with Szchuan sauce. We also had nine dragons fried rice. All food was well-prepared and extremely tasty. Good meal and decent prices. 5/5
California Grill
I love this place. The food was fantastic as usual here and the view was phenomenal. We shared the spinach salad and Four Cheese flatbread for appetizers. We both had the filet for dinner and the warm Chocolate Valhrona (?) cake for desert with white chocolate ice cream. Awesome food, great service, and one of a kind view. Expensive but well worth it. 5/5
Flying Fish
This was a new place for me as when I travel with my family, we usually go to Fultons. I have to say this is my new favorite seafood place in WDW. We sat on the counter in front of the chefs and were able to watch them prepare our meals. We started with a cup of Lobster bisque each and shared the Crispy Calamari. For dinner I had the Potato Wrapped snapper while my roommate had the Scallops served over a risotto which was part of the chef's thunder for the evening. Overall the unique view, excellent food/service, and atmosphere created an awesome dining experience on the boardwalk. 5/5
Crystal Palace Character Breakfast
We came here for good breakfast food and it did not disappoint. Made to order omlettes and waffles along with fresh fruit, potatoes, and pastries provided a great way to start the day at MK. Characters are of course from Winny the Pooh. We had an 810 reservation which allowed us to get pictures in front of the castle without a lot of people walking around. 5/5
Overall we loved where we ate this week. WDW for me as I've gotten older still has attractions I love but now I look forward to the dining experience just as much as the park part of it. Research pays off as I didn't eat a bad meal on this trip.
