Sorry if duplicate.

We just got back from our second Disney trip.

First day we ate dinner at Chef Mickeys. I loved the atmosphere of the Contemporary while we were waiting, there was a nice lounge area with great views and lots of hustle and bustle. Once inside Chef Mickeys I was not that impressed. The food was average, the choices were much more limited than Crystal Palace. It was either prime rib or mickey mouse pasta. I chose the pasta, which was nothing special. The desert was good and the kids enjoyed meeting Mickey and friends. Food: C Atmosphere: B

Second day we went to Epcot and had lunch at La Cellier. The bread was great, was not that impressed with the cheese soup after all the hype. My French Dip sandwich was delicious and the atmosphere was neat. My son asked if were were going on a ride. Food: B+ Atmosphere: A

Third day we ate dinner at Brown Derby (we did the Fantasmic package). Service and food were excellent. My six year old commented that we were finally having a good meal. :rotfl: Now my favorite restaurant at Disney. Food: A Atomosphere: A

Fourth day we ate dinner at Ohanas. The food is delicious and kids loved the hula contests and coconut races. Our server this time was terrible, he never asked if we needed refills and we were always out of sauce or rice. Last summer we had a wonderful server so I guess it is hit or miss. Food: A Atmosphere: A Service: D

Fifth and final day we had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. We felt this was a total rip off. Other than the bread and dessert, the food was horrible. The character interaction was great though. This cost almost as much as our terrific meal at Brown Derby where we had filet mignon. I think Disney is able to get away with it because of the location and characters. Food: C- Atmosphere B

Feel free to ask questions.

Glad to hear you liked Brown Derby because I'm going there for the first time in Oct. What did you have?

Thanks for posting!

Once for breakfast at Chef Mickey's was enough for us. The food was average at best BUT it was the character interaction that made it all worthwhile!

I guess you didn't try the mashed potatoes at Chef Mickey's? I love them. And my daughter loves the shrimp. Too bad to hear you didn't care for it.

Thanks for the review on Brown Derby. We're eating there in Sept. My friend keeps telling me that it isn't so great, expensive........etc.
It looked good to me! :)

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

How was the "timing" of the fantasmic meal at the Derby? Did you have enough time to eat a leisurely meal prior to the show??

Your restaurant tastes seem to run the same as mine. So, I'll have to try the Brown Derby on my next trip.

We were also very underimpressed with Chef Mickey's (I've been there 4 times and it's never been any different) and Liberty Tree Tavern--YUCK.

Thanks! I had been waivering about Chef Mickey's, but now it is definately off the list. I agree with you entirely about LTT--really just like eating a reheated Swanson's frozen dinner!

Thank you for the reviews...we must have similar tastes because we really did not care for Chef Mickeys (however when we went...which in CM defense was a long time ago)...the character interaction was even bad. Good to know about LTT as I was really thinking of this one...I do like Stoffers Mac and cheese though so maybe I would like the frozen dinner meal :rotfl2:
I would love to also hear about how your "time" went with the Fantasmic package.

We had plenty of time for a leisurely meal as our dinner at Brown Derby was at 5:20 pm and we didn't have to be at Fantasmic until 8:30 pm (show starts at 9:00 pm). This was the only time available for dinner when I called (I made my PS only a week before I left) but it actually worked out well. I liked eating early because we got to stay out of the heat until the sun started to go down and the crowds were getting smaller for attractions by the time we got out. Also, no rushing around.

That's good to hear. We're thinking about the Derby for our fantasmic package.
