We just got back yesterday. We spent a week at VWL. Extended Family of 10 - with DD13, DS9, Dnieces 5 & 2.
18th - Had a fun dinner at Whispering Canyon. Two in our party had the all you can eat and enjoyed it. DH had the pasta and said it was great. FIL had fun with the ketchup.
19th - Brunch at Chef Mickey's - food was good (not outstanding). The character interaction was great. The kids spent a lot of time with the characters. We had a late brunch so I think the characters had more time for us.
- Dinner at Artist Point only 4 of us adults went to eat here. The mushroom soup was to die for!!!! I also had the salad with the walnuts and blue cheese which was very good.
20th - Lunch at Emerils. Food was outstanding. And the service was top of the line. There were so many things to choose from we wanted to try them all. I had the calamari and a salad. The calamari portion was huge. I was full after the appetizer.
21st - Dinner at LeCellier. Once again this was a favorite. Had the signature steak - it was wonderful. Service was a little slow. The soup and the creme brule were outstanding. We got the recipes to try at home.
22nd - Lunch at Mama Melrose. We didn't have a PS and were able to walk in at get seated right away at 12:30. I was amazed. This is the only restaurant that we like at MGM and were shocked that we could get in. The food was very good as usual.
- Hoop Dee Doo. This was our first time there. I was worried that the extended family wouldn't like it but they thought it was great and very worth the money. The food was good. The chicken was super.
23rd - Dinner at Ohana. I need to thank all of you on the DIS board for recommending Ohana. We had never tried it and we absolutely loved it. We won't miss this one on future trips. The shrimp were the best - Keep them coming!! LOL. I think I ate 2 dozen at least.
24th - Crystal Palace for brunch. Once again the DIS board recommendation was good. This was a first for us and the food was the best breakfast/brunch food we have had at WDW.
- Teppanyaki for Candlelight Processional dinner. This is one of our favorites. The kids love it there. We tried the sushi and it was great. And the scallops were the best I've ever had. Unfortunately there dessert selection isn't too great. But I do like the ginger ice cream.
We had a great trip of eating around the world.
