Hello!

Thought I would just give a quick review of the places we ate on the DP.

May 16th

Ate at Riverside Mill (POR) for lunch - had bacon cheeseburgers and carrot cake and chocolate cake. The burgers were awesome - the cakes good but not great.

Ate at Wolfgang Puck Express Cafe (Downtown Disney) for dinner - I had the Margherita Pizza (amazing) and fruit for dessert - very good. My husband had the BBQ chicken quesadilla - which was amazing. They were all out of dessert except for the fruit cup, which my husband did not want, so they let him substitute any side. He chose the Herbed french fries and they were very, very good.

May 17th

Ate at Rose and Crown (UK - EPcot)for lunch - I thought this was the best meal we had - one of the best of this type I have ever had actually. THe server was so nice - service amazing - decor very authentic and nice.
I had the Potato Leek soup - so good I got the recipe from them and my husband had the cheese and fruit platter. Both were excellent. We then both had the fish and chips - the best I have ever had except in Ireland. I highly recommend it. For dessert, my husband got the Guinness Chocolate Cake to go (we were too full) and it was good- not anything outstanding. I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was without question, the best dessert I have ever had in my whole life - seriously - I wouldn't even normally have ordered a pudding - but due to recommendations on here, I did and I am glad I did. It was a cake with butter rum sauce and warm pudding - got the recipe for that too... :)

For dinner we ate at Le Cellier - it was really amazing.
I had the shrimp cocktail appetizer - great presentation - delicious. My husband had the Cheese Beer soup - it was amazing. We both had the mushroom filet mignon as our entree - it was perfectly cooked and so tender you could cut it with your fork. I highly recommend it. The risotto it was served with was delicious. For dessert, we shared the sample dessert plate which had Chocolate Club cake with an orange sauce under it (very good), maple creme brulee (amazing) and raspberry sorbet (out of this world). The breadsticks they served first were very good also. I highly recommend this restaurant.

May 18th - Magic Kingdom

For breakfast we had Mickey Mouse ice cream on a stick :)
We had Dole Whips later as a snack - they were not covered as a snack but they were worth the $2.89 each. MMMMM.

For lunch we ate at the Columbia Harbor House - we both had the chicken and fish combo - it was very good. The chocolate cake and cole slaw were also very good.

For dinner we ate at the Crystal Palace. We thought the food was very good. Lots of good choices. The highlights were the Meditterranean Pasta Salad, the Prime Rib, the Penne Pasta with chicken, wild mushrooms and creamy cheese sauce and the garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert - the best was the key lime pie and Tiramisu.

We can't wait to go back. Hope this was helpful. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

Sounds like you had a great time! Thanks for the review. I hadn't thought about Rose and Crown but your review is making my think about it again. Especially the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It sounds soooo good! I love that kind of dessert. :goodvibes

We too found that we took most of our desserts back to our room, unless we shared, when we ate on the plan.
:thanks:

Loved the reviews, but out of dessert at Wolfgang Puck's?! Did they mention how common that is? Half the reason I'm going is for the chocolate fondue dessert? :teeth:

For sharing your reviews,we love LeCellier also. :goodvibes

Thanks for the great reviews. I'm glad you ate at Rose & Crown Pub and Le Cellier. They are two of our favorites to dine at. I agree with you about the Sticky Toffee Pudding, it is fantastic. :)

thanks for the reviews, I think the best part is the mickey bars for breakfast! YUMMY :mickeybar

Thank you for the reviews. It's been coming up once in awhile that the Dole Whip is not a snack credit. I'm trying to figure out why it isn't. I saw a picture of their menu & it clearly had the DP icon next to each item. Was it there went you went?

Hey, can you post or PM the recipe for the potato leek soup? We had that a little more than a year ago and thought it was great but i forgot to ask for it. Have not been able to find it online or anyone who had it.

Thanks for the reviews.

Thanks for sharing your reviews, sounds like you had some great meals. :thumbsup2

:) Here are some answers:

1. We were out of snack credits by the time we got the Dole Whip, so I didn't really look because others had told me it didn't count. There seems to be a lot of discrepancies, so I wouldn't rule out that it is covered on the DP.

2. Here is the recipe for the Potato Leek Soup from Rose and Crown:

Ingredients:

3 pounds Idaho potatoes
3 cups onion, diced
3 cups leeks, diced
1 tbs. butter
1 quart heavy cream
salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

1. Bake the potatoes in a 375 degree oven for 50 minutes.
2. Saute onions and leeks in butter on low heat until clear.
3. Add heavy cream.
4. Once potatoes are done, scoop the center out with a spoon.
5. Once the heavy cream comes to a simmer, add the potatoes you scooped out.
6. Let simmer for 10 minutes, then pull off stove and puree soup in a blender.
7. Next, strain through a china cap (?). Taste and season with salt and pepper.

Cook's note: You must cool as soon as possible. If you cook the soup too long after adding potatoes, the soup will come out brown.

Just FYI - they served this soup with fresh snipped chives on top - so I would also add those.

:)

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

mcgill93 - Promise me the next time you're at Disney you must must MUST :) go to Raglan Road. Their fish and chips are the best on property. Not necessarily the most authentic (in fact not very at all because they're not soggy enough), but so so good. Worth a try for sure. :Pinkbounc :bounce:
