I know how helpful all the dining reviews have been in the past for me, so I desided to do one myself!
We were at WDW for 8 nights 4/30-5/8 7 nights at BWV, 1 night @ SSR.
Along for the trip were:
Myself- 30
DH-33
DD-8
DS-3

We did make some ADR's before we left and a couple of times hade to switch some, add some, etc....

Day 1:
We arrived in Orlando and used ME and was in our room by about 12:30-1:00. We had to rush over to DtD. We had a quick snack @ DtD right after DD did the BBB. We ate light because we had a 6:10 ADR for Chef Mickey's. We ate at Wolfgang Puck Express and all split a pizza. Total was $11.20 with a drink that we shared. It was very good and hit the spot!
We arrived for our ADR at Chef Mickey's at 6pm and had about a 5 min wait. We were really excited and we usually love it here. Unfortunately DS fell asleep and missed the characters. Also the food was bad. I was always one to defend this place because we have always liked the food. Well some things have changed and DH and I didn't like anything dut the mashed potatos. The characters were great as usual. Mickey even took a pic with our sleeping DS. I'm sorry to say that we will not go back here at least for awhile. The total bill was $73.46 before tip.

Day 2:
I had nothing planned for this day. We ended up going to Epcot and I don't remeber what we did for lunch. We headed in the evening to MGM for the EMH and we ate at Sci-Fi. I had an ADR for the next day but cancelled it and we put our name down at Sci fi and had about an hour wait. I have to say we really loved the atmosphere here. The kids thought it was so cool to be in the cars! They were not bothered by what was on the movie screen. DD thought it was funny. I knew the food wasn't the best here so I ordered the kids grilled chicken for myself, DS had the hamburger, DD had the mac n cheese. We all thought the food was fine. We did order the onion rings too and DH and I ate them all!! They were so good! DH had the ribs and he said they were OK. The service here was great. I lost the receipt so I don't know how much we spent.

Day 3:
We had a 12:00 ADR at LTT. This was the 1 restaurant DH requested we try. We had about a 10 min wait. The service was excellent. The food however was not to my or my kids liking. We ordered the cheese sticks and they were the beer bater type and me and DD hated them. DH had the turkey dish and loved it. I had the pot roast and ate only the mashed potatos and carrots! DD had the fruit apt. and I can't remember what else the kids ate! I do remember that we saw another table with delicious looking bread and asked our server where was ours and she replied you have to ask for it! It was good and me and the kids filled up on it. I also lost the receipt so I think this meal was around $60. We will not go back.
That night we wanted to eat at Spoodles so we called ahead to make an ADR and cancel the one we had for the 4th. We had a 20 min wait when we checked in. But as always we had great food and a great experience here. DS was in rare form and the only thing that he wanted was ice cream. So as soon as we sat down our waitress brought over some for him right away! She was great the whole night and our food was served quickly. I had the flat bread as my meal, which is my favorite. DD had the pizza, DS had the grilled chicken and I shared that with him. DH had the rigatoni. We all loved everything. DD also had the make your own sundae which she enjoyed. The total was $59.43 without tip.

Day 4:
DD had the pirate cruise at the YC so I took DS to have breakfast at the BW bakery. He only ate a donut!
For lunch we headed to MGM for our ADR at Mama Melrose. We have eaten here before and usually liked it. We had a 10 min wait and were seated in the back because DS fell asleep and we had to keep him in the stroller. The service and food were great! We felt we ate alot and were really full and it was our cheapest meal of the week! I had the 4 cheese pizza and a side of pasta, DD had rigatoni with butter, DH had the chicken brushetta. We all loved our food. Except my side of pasta which was just OK. We got our DVC 10% discount and the total without tip was $36.09. We will definately go back!
I really can't remember what we had for dinner this night!

Day 5:
We had a late lunch at Rainforest Cafe at AK. We had a 30 min wait which we spent shopping in their store! We had a really nice server and we all enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere here. We have been there before so we knew we would like it. Again DS fell asleep and we had no problem bringing him in in his stroller. DH and DD got the souvenier light up cups. We had cheese sticks for appetizer, DD had the mini hot dogs, DH had the pot roast, I had the tuscan chicken and we bought DS the dino chicken nuggets right before we left. I also had a house sald DD and I split. DH didn't like the pot roast. DD didn't like the hot dogs. I really enjoyed my meal. Total with DVC discount, without tip was $78.24. We would go back. Again, I don't remember what we ate for dinner!

Day 6:
DD had the adventures in cooking@ the GF. After we had lunch at the Gaspirilla Grill. We had the kids chicken tender meal with fries, a cheese pizza, cheese burger and fries. We also bought a candy bar, 2 drinks, 4 juice boxes(for the room) and a small box of ceral for DS to snack on. Total was $35.44. Everything was great and fresh.
We went to Epcot at night for EMH. We ate at the Sunshine season food fair. DH and I shared the 2 entres and sides at the Asian station. We also got the pasta salad, 2 drinks, a side of mashed potatos, and a rotisseri chicken on flat bread. Total was $30.92 and everything was really good. We would definately go back here!

Day 7:
We spent the day with DH brother and wife. We had a quick lunch at the BW at BW Joe's. I was so mad they didn't have the onion rings I had been smelling all week! But I went for a healthier salad at the Spoodles pizza window. We also got 2 grilled chicken sandwhiches, fries and drinks. Oh, BIL also got cheese fries. Everything was good.
That whole day I had been calling Disney dining trying to find a place to take them to dinner. Everything was booked. After calling several times, all of a sudden there was an opening at Ohana's for 5pm! It was 3:30 and we were at the BW! We did make it and we had about a 10 min wait. Now DH and I had eaten here before with the old menu and loved it. I was really leary about this place because the menu changes did not appeal to me. Well, DH, DD and I didn't like it! Again DS fell asleep. SIL and BIL liked almost everything. SIL especially loved the salad, and the dessert. The rest of us opted for just the vanilla ice cream for dessert. The meats were all tasty and good, but we just didn't like anything else. The total came out to $147.53 with tip. We won't be going back.
**On a side note, when we sat down our server asked if we were on the DDP. When we said no, he said GOOD!!! We asked why and he said all the servers hate the DDP because they don't get their tips right away. They get it 2 weeks later.**

Day 8:
This was our last day to go to the parks. We had to check into SSR and we ate lunch there at Artist Palette. I had the cheese flat bread pizza, DD had the mac n chees kids meal. DS shared with me, and DH had something that I can't remember but I know he liked!
We went that night to MK for the EMH. I had called during the day to try for an ADR for Tony's. No luck, they were booked. When we arrived at MK, DH told me to walk up and see if they had any availability. So I humor him and what do ya know, we were seated immediately! She said we have to seat you outside, I said no problem!! WOO HOO!!!
We have eaten here a few times and really like it. Yes the $18 is alot for spaghetti and meatballs, but we're on vacation! Anyway, we love the bread and the dipping sauce they give you. We had seconds! We had ordered the fried goat cheese, which we hated and didn't eat. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, DH had the chicken florintene, DD had spaghetti with butter, DS had the ravioli and DD and I split a side house salad. Everything was great including our server. She didn't charge us for the appetizer we didn't eat. Our total was $72.13 with tip and we will be going back!!

Day 9:
Our last day we went to DtD and had lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. We had the kids cheese pizza, flat bread, side of mashed potatos, DH and I shared the linguine with tomato, basil, and garlic. Everything was so good. We will be going back! Total with drinks was $26.57.

I should add that we are not breakfast eaters. DH and I don't eat it and our kids usually ate in the room. They had cereal in those small containers they sell at the food courts. We had shipped down poptarts, some cereal, and ceral bars. We tried to do early lunches. Before we left I had cancelled the DDP because I didn't think we could eat all that food and I didn't think we would do a sit down everyday.
Well we did do a sit down everday, but I feel we ate alot less then we would've with the DDP. But, with all the snacks and drinks we had we ended up paying almost exactly what the DDP would've cost! So, that's something I'm going to have to think about for our next trip in Nov.

DH and the kids also had McDonalds once at DtD and again at Epcot about 3 times. They said it was really good, for McDonalds!

Thanks for reading all of this and thanks to all those who post their reviews!!

Thanks for the great information!!! I have plans to eat at Tony's so I am glad that you liked it. My whole reason for going is the bread and the chix florentine, was it really good or just o.k? :confused3

Thanks for the great review. How did your DD like the Pirate Cruise and the Adventures in Cooking? I'm thinking of letting my DD7 (then) do something special. Would love to hear about them. :thanks:

Desnik,
Since you don't think the DDP is for you, and you like Disney TS, might I suggest the DDE ?

I figured out what your savings with the card would have been at the participating TS you listed, and it came to about $90. This was not including Sci-Fi because you didn't give you total for that. If it was around $50 that would be another $10 savings. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reviews!

My DH has mentioned Tony's a couple of times and I've always suggested something else, because I always heard mostly bad things about it. Maybe we'll give it a try next time, sounds like you had a good experience there.

Did your dd like the pirate cruise? I'm going to try to get it for my ds' next year. I was wondering if the one at the YC gave the pirate "ears" like the one at the GF does?

Thanks!

Before we left I had cancelled the DDP because I didn't think we could eat all that food and I didn't think we would do a sit down everyday.
Although we went in March before the DDP was available to DVC members, I kept track of everything we ate, snacks and all. We ate a TS everyday but 1 and still were $200 under the cost of DDP for our family. We ate well and there is no way we could eat all the food on the plan. One strike against us though, is that DD is 11 and considered an adult and she eats like a bird.

Thanks for the reviews!

Enjoyed your reviews. Thank you for taking the time to compile them.

With regard to servers not getting their DDP tips for two weeks, wouldn't that be the greatest lagtime if they had just received their paychec? And do they somehow get other credit card tips faster? :confused3

Your welcome everyone! I'm glad these reviews will help some of you!!

Tony's food wasn't OK, it was really good. We always enjoy it.

DD loved the Pirate cruise and adventures in cooking. Last time she did the pirate cruise from the GF and I felt that one is better organized. It states to be there 15 min. before and they didn't open the window till 5 min after 10. Just as a boat was pulling up and they threw a pirate flag on it! They gave each kid a bandana(no Mickey ears) and name tag. They had 2 CM's, one guy one girl. It was a nice mix of boys and girls on the cruise. They get to go into Epcot into WS and when I was going back to my room at the BW, they were there by the pool!! She came back with a bag full of pirate loot and had a really fun time. The GAIC was really nice too. They decorated aprons and chef hats with Mickey ears. They made cookies and handed them out to all the parents waiting. The cookies were good too! She really enjoyed it but I don't feel either are things she would want to do again. She only did this pirate cruise because it is alittle different than the GF one she did.
I do have to mention that the princess tea at the GF, the one that is $225 was so adorable. I got to watch it while DD was in the cooking class. The girls were so cute in their costumes and they do such a nice job with the tea party. I really wish DD was still into all that because I would've paid the money to do it even though it is expensive.

I think the DDE would probably work better for us. Thanks for figuring it out!

Great review!!! And nice to hear good stuff about Tony's in MK, we're looking forward to dining there! Do you think its nicer sitting outside in that restaurant or is it better inside?

We really enjoyed eating outside. The weather was perfect and we got to see some characters that were right outside in front of the restaurant. I would sit out there again, but I wouldn't specifically ask to sit out there. We also like eating inside.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.
