Sorry no pictures! Here's a short review of our meals last week. It was just DS (who turned 11 on our trip) and I. We had the basic dining plan, and also snuck in a meal at T Rex. I'm not a super detailed person, so if you have questions just ask and I'll try to remember :goodvibes

Thursday 2/19-Arrival day. We had an ADR for Biergarten at Epcot. Never ate here before, but thought we'd give it a try. We checked in at 6:15 for our 6:20 ADR and waited almost 30 minutes to be seated. They sat us with a family of 6 who were almost finished with their meal. I was not at all impressed with the food :sad1: I think I ate more salad and pretzel rolls than anything else. The pork was really dry and over cooked, the spaetzel was bland. DS didn't even like the mac and cheese. We did enjoy the desserts though. The entertainment and wait staff were great, just don't think we'd return because the food was just not good.

Friday 2/20- Animal Kingdom day- We ate breakfast at All Star Sports. I had the Mickey waffle with bacon, waffle was terriffic, bacon was yucky. Not sure why, but it was really flavorless? DS had the cheese omlette with potatoes and sausage and he loved everything.
Lunch-Flame Tree BBQ- We both ordered the ribs which came with baked beans and a cornbread muffin, and chocolate cake for dessert. Never ate here before either, we both enjoyed the ribs, muffin and the few bites of cake we had (no room for dessert lol). The beans were really dried out and very sweet which didn't appeal to either of us.
Dinner- Boma- This is always our favorite and we agreed that it was still the best meal of the trip. I can't remember everything we had, but some kind of roast with yummy dipping sauces, lots of hummus, fresh fruit, potatoes with Afritude, and of course desserts. We'll return again on out next trip :goodvibes

Saturday 2/21 DHS day- Breakfast-we slept in a bit and just got some fruit from the cafeteria at AS Sports.
Lunch-Sci Fi-We'ver been here before, but DS loves the atmosphere. We both ordered burgers and they we ok. I wouldn't pay that much for what we got if I weren't at Disney, but they weren't horrible lol. Dessert was apple cobbler for me and some kind of sundae for DS. They were both good, but once again we didn't have room for dessert so we didn't eat much. We also had a bit of waiter envy lol. Our waiter was VERY slow and not too freindly, the waiter at the next car was cracking jokes and seemed like he really enjoyed his job.
Dinner tried the food court at the hotel again. DS ordered pizza and I got chicken alfredo. It wasn't too bad, not normal chicken alfredo (it was penne pasta with a fried chicken breast on top), it came with a salad and a breadstick, and I think we both got a bottle of water.

I will continue later on, got to finish my just home from vacation laundry before I go back to work tomorrow.:rolleyes1

Thanks for your reviews. Sorry you didn't enjoy Biergarten--it is one of our favorites. Perhaps you just caught a bad day for them.

Can't wait for more reviews.

Ok, I will try to continue with the reviews.

Sunday- MK day.

Breakfast was at Chef Mickey's We had an 8:00 ADR, or so I thought. After waiting in line to check in, the hostess could not find my ADR?!? Luckily I had my confirmation number with me and she said I was scheduled for Friday 2/27! I don't know how that happened because I made all of my ADRs at the same time, and we were leaving on the 26th. She said it wasn't a problem and put us in for a table for 2. We had a really long wait and I'm not sure if it was because of the mix up, but after a while I went back to the hostess stand and they forgot to print out my ticket for seating :confused3 When we finally sat down, we everything was fine. Normal buffet foods, surprisingly we only went up for one plate each. I think we were too excited to get to MK. We waited for the characters to come around for some pics and left.
Dinner-We skipped lunch and went back to the hotel for a rest. It was EMH day for MK and we planned to be there until 1am so we needed a nap. When we went back to MK we decided to eat and tried a CS meal and EL Pirata y El Perico. It was so-so I had a BBQ pork sandwick with chips and DS had a burger. Both ended up with chocolate cake for dessert. It was alright for a CS meal, but nothing exciting.

Monday Epcot

Due to our late night at MK, we slept in and just grabbed fruit and muffins from the food court at AS Sports for breakfast, the chocolate muffin was delicious!

Lunch- we had a late (3:30) ADR for Teppan Edo. After we found the place (didn't realize it was upstairs lol) we were seated right away. DS and I ordered a crispy beef roll appetizer (rice with seaweed and beef inside, fried on the grill). I liked it, DS wasn't too impressed. We both ordered the chicken and steak entree. First we had the noodles with zucchini and onions. DS doesn't like onions so he kind of picked at his, but I thought it was good. The main course was really good. We again had a little waitstaff envy because the chef at the next table was really funny (our whole table was watching him) we had a femal chef named Yoko and she was a little quieter, she did lots of tricks while cooking out meals, but didn't seem that into it. For dessert I ordered the chocolate ginger cake and DS had ice cream. I really liked the cake, not at all what I expected. It was kind of a layered pastry with cream and then a chocolate ganache on top, very good!

Tuesday- DHS

Breakfast- DS ordered chocolate chip pancakes form the food court at the hotel, they were REALLY good. We ended up sharing them because they were so big.
Lunch-50's Prime Time Cafe I've always wanted to eat here and finally remembered to make an ADR. Loved the atmosphere, and we were seated right away. The woman at the next table told me I had to try to chicken pot pie and she had cleaned her plate, so that's what I ordered. DS tried the fried chicked, but he asked for green beans instead of the greens. My first 2 bites were wonderful. The sauce was great and I loved the pastry top. Then I ran into some bad chicken  It was actually dark gray, and full of gristle. I couldn't eat it at all, so I just ate the veggies and the pastry. DS loved his chicken and the green beans were really fresh, the portion was huge though, so he couldn't finish. I showed the waitress my giant pile of gray chicken and she apologized, and offered a new plate, but I declined. We both had the brownie sundae for dessert, it was brownies, ice cream topped with chocolate sauce, M&M's and carmel corn. Very good! I don't know if we'd go back again. The waitress was very nice, but I didn't see any of the antics going on that I'd heard about. They did give you a little warning at the beginning to eat your veggies and keep your elbows off of the table, but nothing more than that.

Dinner-T-Rex at DTD. I wasn't planning on going here, I wanted to use up our CS credits at Earl of Sandwich, but nothing appealed to DS. There seemed to be a really long line, but it went fast and we were seated within 15 mins. Our table was in the Ice Cave room. At first it was really cool, but as we were trying to read the menus we realized the entire room changes colors every few minutes and it was distracting. Maybe it had something to do the the Lava Colada I ordered?? I don't drink often and the drink hit me hard lol. DS ordered some kind of gigantasaurus burger which was the size of a dinner plate. It was good, but way too big for him lol. I think we could have shared it and still had left overs. I had a cheese steak, nothing special, tasted like something from our local sub shop. Back to the drinks, the waiter was really pushy, one of those who sits down at your table with you (which I can't stand..) he talked DS into getting this dinosaur bone cup thing. It was like 1 1/2 feet tall but skinny, so equal to a regular glass. It was filled with a blue/red icee. My drink was good, a pina colada with strawberry puree. Overall it was the same as Rainforest Cafe, something to try once, buy WAY over priced. Our meal was $62. No dessert or appetizers. I should have stuck to using my CS credits (which ended up going to waste.)

Last day was Wednesday 2/25, DS's 11th birthday!

We had an ADR for Kona for breakfast at 8:05, but we were both exhausted and decided to sleep in. I managed to wake up to cancel the ADR at 8:00, so I don't think it did any good, hopefully they weren't too busy.

Breakfast- When we finally woke up we headed for MK. After registering DS for his birthday, we went to Main Street Bakery. OF all the times we've been to WDW, I've never been her. DS ordered the cinnamon roll which was GIGANTIC! I had a croissant and a banana. The cinnamon roll was delish, I tried a bite and wow! My croissant was also great, very fresh and flaky!

Lunch- We stopped at Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. We didn't have an ADR, but they were able to seat us within a few minutes around 12:30. Never ate here before either. DS ordered the cheeseburger and said it was his second favorite meal of the week (after Boma). I had the tri corner sandwich. I thought it was excellent. I got the slaw on the side, so it was roast beed, arugula, and a hoseradish mayo on this yummy bread. I can't really describe the bread, but it was like a focaccia, but really soft. After we ate the waitress annouced DS's birthday and brought him a cupcake!

Dinner-I had an ADR for Tony's at 5:30, but neither of us were hungry, so I called to cancel it at 4pm and was able to get an 8:50 ADR for Ohana. We both loved this on our last trip. By the time we were seated it was after 9 and I was starving. DS surprisingly wasn't that hungry (he's usually a big eater). Our server Rosa was great. She brought out the salad, I had 2 huge helpings of this. Then came the chicken wings, pot stickers, noodles, and a bowl of broccoli and green beans. I liked everything, DS just ate all of the broccoli, and one piece of chicken. We were then served our meat, we both loved the steak and the turkey. DS had seconds of the steak. He also surprised me by wanting to participate in the coconut races. He's always shy about stuff like that because he's really tall (about 5ft 4 I think) and he looks so much older than he is (the waitress even guess he was 15 instead of 11 lol). But there were some older kids participating, so he joined it. The lady who sings and runs the games REALLY liked him. She even came over to our table twice after the games were over to talk to him and ended up giving him 8 leis?? DS was really embarassed then lol. We then had the dessert and it was the perfect way to end our trip, we both loved the new dessert (new to us) we hadn't been there since they stopped serving the pineapple with caramel, but this was much , much better!

SO, that's about it, let me know if you have questions!

Wow, I love seeing Disney food from someone's elses taste buds:) Thank you:)

I've really enjoyed your reviews - thanks!

I have a question for you about T-rex. I have been debating if I should take my son on his 5th birthday there. We also have a 2 year old girl who isn't fond of loud noises. You mentioned it was like Rain Forest. I watched a UTube video and it seemed VERY LOUD.

Do you think it would be good - or we'd be better off doing something else. It just seems like a pricey OOP meal.

Nice reviews I always wanted to try Ohana and still never been there but love Liberty Tree dinner .

I thought it was very loud, and I'm not sure about the other dining areas, but the "ice cave" room was pretty intense and over stilmulating with all of the color changing and so much going on. If your little girl might be bothered by it, I would probably skip it this time around. Like you said it was pretty pricey and if she wasn't comfortable, you wouldn't want to have to rush or leave early. My DS was the same way when he was little (still doesn't like loud unexpected noises lol).

It sounds like you had an awesome time with your son......that will always be in your memories.......thanks for all your reviews....

I guess we will skip T rex this next trip and keep our DTD foods to Earl Of Sandwich....

Thanks again for taking the time to do the reviews

Thx for the great reviews! :) We will be going on our first trip this summer and for someone who is not familiar with any of the restaurants this has been very helpful! :thumbsup2
