Do you have to have a resort ressie # to make dining reservations????

Also if you are renting points can you add disney dining and park tickets to the DVC ressie and just pay for them on your own credit card???

Thank you

Kim

Hi,

I can answer question #1. Anyone can make ADRs 180 days out. No room or package is necessary.

I am renting points this years as well. As far as the dining plan, all you have to do is let the DVC member you're renting from know that you want the DDP. He/She will then let DVC know. You pay for the DDP when you check into your resort. As I understand it you can add the dining plan any time before you arrive. The cost is $37.99 per adult per night you stay (I think children are $9.99).

As far as park tickets go, you can purchase them at the gate when you get to Disney if you want. There are also online sites that sell Disney tickets at a discounted price (not that big a savings, but still a savings). I think the most popular one I've seen on these boards is undercovertourist.com. You can purchase your tickets ahead of time and have them mailed to your home. When you get to Disney you can ask the CM when you check in if they can add the ticket to your room key. I've read where they can do that.

I plan on purchasing my tickets online about a month before I leave.

In all my years going to Disney this is I think the best value I've ever gotten for my money. I've saved so much money by renting and then purchasing the tickets online. It's great. I'm looking forward to trying out a DVC room. Where are you staying? I will be a Boardwaok Villas.

The DVC member has to add the DDP or Deluxe DDP for you. You can't do it yourself. But since you're staying on DVC points you just pay for it at check-in unlike if you brought a disney package.

For tickets you can buy them online, at conceirge, or at the parks.

You should get your reservation number from the DVC member. They should have it if your villa is already booked. If you have that you can do all your ADRs 180 days from your check-in for up to 10 days of your vacation. If you don't have that reservation number then you have to book each ADR exactly 180 days from when you want it to be.

Just to completely clarify what the above posters said, the DVC owner from whom you're renting needs to add the DDP or Deluxe DDP for you, and it needs to be done at least 48 hours before you check in. You can pay for it at check in.

You should check out the DVC boards here for more info. :hippie:

I agree with the rest of your post but other than the couple of dining reservations that are very hard to get, there is no need to call at 180 days. It's far easier to make one call at 170, 153...whatever....and book all at once.
