Dining Reservations

Hello All...Disney Worlder here making the trek out west to Disneyland for the first time for my 40th bday with the family. I have been reading and reading to get a grip on Disneyland planning vs World. I haven't found the answer to this...I get that 60 days for dining is the standard but will I be able to make reservations for the whole 4 days on the first day like World or do I have to go back in each day to make a res?

I just did my dining reservations for January and I could only do one day at a time at 60 days out, so it took my 3 days to finish our reservations. Good luck!

Most of the Disneyland dining reservations don't sell out immediately so there is no need to book as soon as they open.

True. For example, I got a reservation at Napa Rose within a few hours of when I wanted to dine last year. There are also a lot of restaurants where you really don't need a reservation. I don't think I've ever had a reservation at Naples, for example, but there's always been a table available within a few minutes.

Although if you want a particular time, it’s good to hit the 60 day mark, esp with a few places. I will always book Blue Bayou at 60 days if I want first lunch seating at 11:30 to get waterside. The one time I waited a couple weeks, I couldn’t get it.

Yeah, I would agree that Blue Bayou is somewhere where you'll want to have a reservation. Carthay Circle is probably another good example.

Keep in mind that DL has many great quick service options, which Worlders aren't used to. You'll certainly want reservations to your top table service choices, but be careful not to tie yourself down too much, DL is much more "fly by the seat of your pants."
