dining reservations with infant

if i am making dining reservations and our party will include a six-month old, do i include him in my party's total? obviously, he won't be eating. but he will take up space.

Yes. They need accurate headcounts for table size and occupancy limits.

Just wanted to let you know that we will have a six-month old with us when we go in August. When I made my reservations on the phone, the CM told me not to count the baby. When I called back to make another reservation, that CM told me I should. I told him that the other CM told me not to count her, and he said it really didn't matter. He said they are flexible when it comes to infants. Therefore, if you try for your total # of people and are not able to get an ADR, ask for one less & see if that helps.

I wouldn't count on flexibility. I've heard of people in situations being turned away b/c the infant puts them into fire code risks...Le Cellier and Crystal Palace are coming to mind. It all really depends on the restaurant, but the best bet is to include that infant in your #s.
