Dining Reservations HELL!

I would have your friend request that the reservation be transferred to her and I would run like heck away from this agency. No way would I trust my reservation in any way to anyone over there at this point. I am glad Disney wouldn't allow the original TA to make changes, but if she is THIS malicious, then she might find a way.

Once I had complete control of my reservation I would go to the BBB (though really it is useless) and every website that would allow me to leave a review about them. I would make sure that every person I knew was aware of what happened. ESPECIALLY since it doesn't seem like anything is being done about what the TA did (she would have been fired on the spot if I was a supervisor).

I am glad Disney is trying to help. That is real customer service since honestly they have no reason to. Hopefully you all can get those reservations fixed.

What a mess!! Sounds like the agency is circling the wagons.

Does this agent/agency have the Disney certified agent designation? If they do, and I was your friend, I'd write that division a letter, outlining everything that had happened and that Disney travel/dining should also have a record of what happened. I would imagine there's got to be some kind of conduct requirement on that designation.

I'm not a big BBB fan after I found out that businesses can better their grades by being a paying member. However, it wouldn't hurt to register a complaint!

Your friend may also want to see if Disney can change her reservation number, even if that involved Disney having to cancel and rebook (they've had to do that with me before involving something else). I would not want her possessing that information. Your friend can also link a different email address to her MDE account as well.

This kind of stuff gets me worked up, even for strangers! :)

This woman supposedly was their Disney expert but my friend had to tell her about all the discounts. And didn't seem knowledgeable about the resorts at all. But she can't access the account anymore. No one at the office can get into it. Disney basically put a fraud alert on it. So even when my friend calls she had to verify a lot of things on the account before they'll even talk to her.

Whew.

We also found out yesterday that the TA attempted to make more changes to the reservation after she was already removed. Whether she was actually trying to correct things or mess things up again is unknown. But Disney would not let her change anything as they removed her from the account. And she was apparently quite upset that she couldn't do anything, so she was probably doing some malicious!

WOW.

For those talking about reporting this to BBB, the OP said that her friend works "close to the TA's office and she's afraid if she starts a smear campaign that the TA will do it as well".

And honestly I think that Disney helping is *expected*. This seems to be an agency that has the Disney certification (or whatever it's called), so they are, in a way, part of Disney. If Disney didn't help I would be shocked!

What a raging B! I can't believe this woman did this, OP. Out of curiosity, how old is this woman?
I'd also flat out ask Disney to withdraw the agency's "Disney approved" status if there is one.

I'm not sure I've never met here. Only talked to her over the phone. But the owner said she'd been working there for years and was well educated in all things Disney. Which isn't true, my friend had to explain everything to her. Even before this big mess she said several times the woman knew nothing about Disney. She booked our Boma and Simba Club an hour apart to "give us time" to get to our reservation when they're at the same resort in the same building. She was clueless about this even argued with my friend about it.

Ok so here's an update for all of you following along. My friend spent a good amount of time this morning working with a supervisor at Disney. We were able to restore 4 of our meals together but no CRT or BOG just yet! Everything is still around the same time except Coral Reef which isn't too big of a deal for us to push back dinner 2 hours. And they will continue to work on the other two and will call if an opening becomes available. They seemed confident there would be enough cancellations the week before or closer but couldn't guarantee it. Which is completely understandable.

However I do come with some bad news regarding the TA. She will not be reprimanded or anything other than not getting commission. Which we were pretty sure would happen anyway since she was no longer attached to the vacation and I believe don't get paid until it's complete. They offered $100 back which is what they said was what they earn from it. Which to my understanding isn't true, they earn 60% of a vacation. And we are staying in AKL so our vacation is over four thousand so commission should be over $240.

So on top of more than likely lying about commission they tried to put the blame on me. They told my friend, that maybe I called in and made the changes! First of all I couldn't without the confirmations numbers and secondly I would never do that! But what do you expect from people they went out of their way to make someone's vacation less enjoyable!

The bolded part...that would really bother me!

If I was your friend I would have countered with this: "Would you really allow someone other than me to request a change on my dinner reservation?"

Just unbelievable! Your friend was the client. Even if you had requested a change to the reservation, I would think that the TA would still have to confirm that change with your friend since it was technically her reservation. What a pathetic excuse on the TA's part!

OP I am so sorry, what she did was not only unprofessional it was vindictive. :furious: I'd be tempted to stand outside (on public property of course) their location with a sign telling the world how they ruined my disney vacation.

Thank you all for your continued support. We haven't heard anything yet in regards to an opening for BOG or CRT. But it's looking likely that Disney will probably more than likely remove the agency from being licensed Disney travel agents. A part of me hates it for the small company to be punished for the actions of this one woman. However the owner hasn't done anything to rectify the situation except try to cast blame on me. She'd never attempted to call Disney to make things right. Only the original TA tried contacting them and since she couldn't do anything to the account we have no idea what her intentions were.

do NOT feel guilty. all this could have easily been avoided and mitigated if the Owner had just stepped up and taken responsibility. instead they have treated their customer( your friend) shamefully and burned any bridges that could have enticed you to ever give them a second chance.

they DESERVE whatever Disney does to them,. Disney, with a reputation of their own and an unwillingness to be associated with the likes of these people who tried to pull this crap in the first place.

IMO..It won't just be the TA's actions, that will cause them to lose their certification. The owner did not attempt to find a remedy. She did NOTHING for her client.

Sadly I have no good news in getting dinner reservations for BOG or CRT. But we still have 3 weeks to go so maybe something will become available. However we did secure FPs for lunch on our last day in the parks. It's at least something for my youngest DDs birthday. Belle is her favorite and she loves BOG and was looking forward to getting to celebrate her birthday in the castle. But we will take what we can get and hope that something becomes available.

Wow, what an awful mess! Sorry about that, just unbelievable! Now, I realize this is an old posting I happened upon, but after reading all 5 pages, I am very curious how it all turned out, OP, and just had to ask! Wondering if you got your Bog or Crt for daughter's bday ressies in the end? I hope you had a wonderful trip with your family and friends, filled with lots of magic! :)

I would agree. She really only needs to spend her time booking dining reservations for her clients. If I had been her, I would not have booked any dining reservations for anyone not booked through me in the first place.

So, she spent *extra* time to go back in and change the reservations that were requested by her client....which should have been made without regard to whoever the *client* was choosing to dine with on any given evening. So very, very small and petty. Add in that she then LIED about having made the changes....if it was all above board and defendable based on client restriction there would be no reason to LIE. I hope the owner of the agency thinks long and hard about retaining an agent who will LIE about the decisions she made and her conduct.

No we didn't get CRT at all. We got lunch fast passes for BOG but it's not the same. And sadly we didn't get them for our December trip either. We still had a decent time. A lot of bad things happened but wec tried to make the best of the trip. I will say we didn't enjoy staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and will not be staying again.
