My family and friends we are traveling with have ADR for 6 all on the DDP, we have since added a 7 member, they are on the DDP also. Does anyone no if we showed up to our reservation with 7 instead of 6 if we should expect a delay or to be told they simply could not seat us.:rolleyes1

I would change your reservations for 7. I know it makes a difference on how many at a table. Some tables will be meant for 6. Just my opinion.

Let me start by saying I am no expert on ADRs. We also have a party of 7. I made all of our ADRs for 7 people. I asked the opposite question of a CM yesterday-if someone gets sick or can't make it and we end up with 6 instead of 7, will we lose our table? I don't anticipate this happening, but I wanted to know what to expect. The CM said, "possibly, but not necessarily." Not really a straight answer. She said it depends on the restaurant when we get there.

I also have a reservation for the Garden View Tea for 2, and I called back yesterday to increase it to 3 people thinking that they would just add a person to the existing ADR. They had to cancel the whole ADR and make a new one b/c they said the table they had selected only seats 2 people. So, I guess when making ADRs, they actually look at how many people each table setting will seat? Like I said, I don't know, I'm just basing this on my own conversations. So, my point is if they've specifically selected tables that only seat 6 people, I suppose it could potentially be a problem. Personally, I wouldn't mind just squeezing in an extra chair, but I think Disney tries to avoid this so that the servers and other guests aren't blocked or crowded.

I think the best thing to do is to call back and make your ADRs for 7 people. It would be kind of :( for one person to be left out.

I agree with the other posters. I suggest you call and explain that you now need reservations for 7 people.

Since the majority of tables are probably set up for four people you either are set up now for a 4 person table and a 2 person table or a 4 and 4.

I would not show up with seven as you may be turned away.

I was in the exact same situation before my mother-in-law commited to which days she was joining us. I had reservations for 6. I called and asked what I should do if the MIL joined us and was told that it depended on the types of tables they have at the restaurants. Some of my reservations were at tables that seated 5 or 6 and others were at tables that seated 6 or 7 (I'm guessing those are round tables????) In order to add a 7th person to the restaurants that we were booked at a 5/6 size table we had to cancel and rebook. For the tables that are 6/7 they just change the number on the reservation. The restaurants that I have been able to change from 6 to 7 and back without cancelling are Boma, Jiko, Princess Storybook, and Whispering Canyon. But I had to make all new reservations at Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, and Tuskerhouse. I was told I couldn't get a table for larger than 6 at Yak and Yeti or Sci Fi and we would have to get separate tables (which I declined.)

I had the same problem switching from a party of 5 to a party of 4. It really does make a huge difference with some of the adr's.

I booked a dinner adr for 4 to Le Cellier last Sep and came with 5 (Grandma wanted to come). They took us...no questions, no problem~
