Dining Plan

I went to Universal in November and forgot to check in here with how much I liked their dining plan. I had been aimlessly roaming around Springfield with my youngest waiting for the rest of the group and the guy holding the door at Moe's explained the dining plan to me. I initially thought he was talking about the old dining plan so I kind of ignored him and said no thanks but he gave me the card with info on it anyway. So I was reading while I waited for my party and it was actually a really good deal for us. For the 6 of us we only bought two since we were planning to eat at Ohana's for dinner that night. For each of the meal plans we got a card with one counter service meal (including drink) two snacks and two drinks (or one drink? I think it was two though - sorry not even a month out and my memory is foggy)

We used the meal credits for a seafood basket in the food court in Springfield - it had clam strips, coconut shrimp, fish and hush puppies (again maybe it had more seafood than that - I should have taken a pic) and fries. We got a huge buzz cola with each meal and one of those big pink donuts (which are normally $5 a pop). We had the card to use later to buy more snacks when we were in the park. We ended up getting a big pink to go, and some popcorn at the exit.

The food was good (seriously those donuts are obviously big when you see them but they were just GIANT, I was slicing it like a cake) and I really thought the value was great. I like the set up with the card and the fact that unlike their previous meal deal it seems to be accepted most places. Very convenient that I could just buy it at the counter too since our Universal days tend to be semi spontaneous.

Thank you for that review. It seems it will be a good fit for my family too. I am glad I can buy it in the parks.

We used it this past weekend and found it to be an excellent value as well, especially as the snack credits don't have to be used the same day. We bought the cards on Sunday, and used 1 snack credit each at Boulangerie for a peice of cheesecake for me, and a muffin for hubby, then got our dinner with them later that day. Then on Monday morning, we used our last snack credit at Croissant Moon in IOA for a breakfast pastry. I expect that we will purchase going forward any time we are spending all day or most of a weekend, etc in the parks.
