dining plan

sorry if this is a repeat question (i did a search and found no answer). I am trying to decide if we want to use the dining plan well we are at the park. My question is:
Do you get a discount for the dining plan and if so what is the discount? Also what is the price for the dining plan?

Basically, no discount, but you do not have to pay increased prices during peak times.

We don't really get a "discount" but during certain times of the year when disney adds a surcharge to the dining plan for anyone on a package it doesn't affect us.

I think the 2012 regular dining plan is $51.54 ages 10+ and $15.02 for ages 3 - 9 ... per night
