Hi all,
I have had the DP added to our ressie....can we pay for it with a Disney gift card when we arrive?.....in other words, do the DVC resorts accept Disney gift cards as payment for the dining plan?

Thanks!
Anne

Yes you can! I sent my sister & boyfriend on a trip in September as a gift. I gave them a gift card purchased at disney.com to cover the dining plan and there were no problems at all.

Yup! I buy gift cards in $25 increments from my school's TRIP program. By the time we went in October, I had 20 gift cards. They applied each and every one of them to my room account to pay for the DDP. You can also use the Disney Visa Rewards in the same way.

This is probably a stupid question but where do you buy Disney gift cards? At the Disney stores? Online at the main website or do you have to purchase them at the resort or parks? We received one as an incentive for adding on but I'd like to get a few more ahead of time.

You can buy them at the Disney Stores or disneyshopping.com (search "gift cards"). Before I bought them from our school, I went through this website...

It is the Disneyland website and it is the only one that I've found where you can pick the design on your card. They have so many to choose from and the shipping was very fast!

Anne,

I just did this on my recent trip. One thing though, since they take your credit card number when you check in for incidentals and room charging, AND charge everything onto it for express checkout, you definately want to pay down your DP balance when you arrive.

For example. When I arrived in September, I already had a $690 balance due for the DP. They asked me for my credit card but before I gave it to them I told them I wanted to pay down my balance with my Disney Rewards (I had $400) and a gift card of $100 that I got from the Disney Store.

After using them, I "started" my trip with $190 that would eventually go on my Disney Visa at the end of the trip. If you don't do it this way, they are likely to charge everything on the credit card you give them at check-in.

Have a great trip.
