Hi All,

I was just reading some posts about the dining plan. We are going in June, probably making most breakfast and dinner ressies beforehand.

Now, first of all, what is this dining plan? How does it work? Will it work for my family of 5 (DH, DW, DS13, DS10, and Disney Grandma 72)???

Is it a better deal then buying meals separately?

Thanks,
Simon :wizard:

You can only get the Disney Dining Plan as a part of a package - room at rack rate and tickets for everyone in the party. The plan costs about $39 a day for adults and about $11 a day for kids 3-9. You purchase it for each night of your stay. You get one table service, one counter service and one snack per day.

I don't think I'll be doing that then. DS10 is an extremely picky eater and basically didn't eat anything last year. I remember the only real lunch he had was a hot dog.

It may work for you, depending on where you're eating. Are you doing family-style or buffet meals where you have to pay the adult price for your 10 YO anyway? We just did the DDP with a very picky 11 YO, and for the buffets we would have paid adult anyway, and for the other table service meals we paid out of pocket for him and got him a kids meal. Then we used the extra TS credits for DH and I to go the California Grill, which is 2 credits per person, while the kids went to the Neverland Club. That worked well for us.

You should take a look at where you'll be eating and see if it looks like you'll come out ahead.
