I'm just a bit confused about what is included in a "Quick service" and "Table service" meals.

Is it three courses? Starter, main and dessert? And drinks? (Obviously not alcoholic)

Is there a $$ limit or can I choose the steak every night?:goodvibes

If you use a Quick service for breakfast what would be included?

Any help appreciated. I want to get my money's worth (being from Yorkshire!):thumbsup2

There is no starter in the TS meals just main course and desert. 99% of the time you can choose anything off the menu. A none alcoholic drink is included. Most CS meals were a main, side, desert and drink when I last had the plan but I think I read about a slight change. You als get one snack per day. This is all for the regular dining plan. By the way you can't substitute a starter for a desert at the TS meals.

Don't forget that with Table Service meals, you pay the tip on the price of the items, so if you order the most expensive stuff, your tip will be higher! Standard rate is around 18% of the cost before tax. :)

Thanks.

Seems like a good deal!
Any other tips? Do you have to tell them up front that you are on the dinning plan?

At TS meals they will ask if you are on the DDP and your server will explain what's allowed at that restaurant.

CS meals you can get a main as it's listed on the board (ie if it has a side listed you get that and if it doesn't you don't), dessert and drink. You can switch dessert for any other snack on the menu. You can also get 3 snacks for a CS credit as certain locations (in one transaction)

You can generally use your snack credits for breakfast and use your free mug to get a drink so long as you are eating at your resort QS place or another resort QS place (you can't use your mug in the eateries at the parks). Muffins, croissants, a piece of fruit, a bagel for example are often a snack credit. I think if you use a CS credit you get a breakfast meal plate and two drinks. Not certain as I don't eat a whole meal like that at breakfast.

I think for breakfast (we don't do CS breakfast very often either) you just get an entree and drink or you can still get 3 snacks for your CS credit.

There is no appetizer included, unless you get the deluxe plan.
A TS meal will include a drink (no alcohol), entree and dessert.
A QS meal will include a drink (no alcohol), entree and dessert. We would often exchange the drink for another dessert or side. Fruit, yogurt, etc...

You can also trade in 1 QS for 3 snacks, but must be done in one transaction.

This is correct.

Breakfast CS does not include dessert. Only Lunch and Dinner do

Breakfast = entrée + drink (non alcoholic)
This means you normally can't get 2 drinks and a main at breakfast with a CS credit, as you have no dessert to switch for an additionnal snack item.

It seems though that this year for a Cs/Qs they have taken away the dessert and now give an extra snack credit instead for this year,

For 2016 bookings the brochure that sets out what is included is here

But basically for 2016 trips a quick service meal is main (eg burger and fries, hot dog and crisps, chicken and beans, ribs and beans, an individual pizza etc) and two snacks (usually dessert and a drink), all items must be taken in one transaction.
A table service meal is always main, dessert and non-alcoholic drink OR a buffet meal.
You also get one other snack per day. look for the purple DDP logo.

In 2017 it is thought that a quick service meal will change to being main and drink only, then you get two snacks to use at any time. But the brochure for 2017 isn't out yet.

Always tell them you are on the dining plan, the CM will help you with the best deals.

My tips
- if you are using a snack credit at Starbucks, the smaller and larger drinks are all the same snack credit, so get the larger size!
- some QS will let you get a specialty drink as part of your plan, rather than just a soft drink. As about it! We often upgraded to smoothies or iced coffee and did not get charged more.

As long as the smoothie or iced coffee is marked as a snack with the purple DDP logo then you can have it as your drink at a quick service meal.

We love desserts but even we got fed up with HAVING to have a dessert with a CS meal-it was better if we had a meal at the food court at POFQ cos there was a bit more to choose from, but there is a limit to how many times you can enjoy chcolate cake for pudding!

Oh Jon-I threw one away...Honestly! I love sweet stuff but I just overdosed on desserts, took my choccie cake back to the room and then forgot it was in the fridge for about 3 days...
