Is there a complete list of Snack foods somewhere online? Is it really limited to bags of chips, soda/water, piece of fruit, ice cream?

Thanks,

I found that it really depends where you are. We were able to get French toast loaf and iced tea using snack credits at the Main St. Bakery. We got rice krispy treats at the AsMo food court. We also got the chips, the ice cream pops, popsicles, frozen bananas, and small popcorns.

We were not able to get Powerade, but our friends who traveled with us were able to at the AsMo foodcourt. They also got the minute maid frozen lemonades on the snack plan.

The best thing to do is just ask...we had to ask often!!

Basically yeah, that's it. I think you can get popcorn in the parks, and sometimes things like cookies or rice krispie treats in the resorts.

You can also use your snack credits to sample the food for sale during the Food/Wine Fest. It seems to me they will let you use the credits for just about anything that falls within the $2-$4 range.

At the PO-R food court, I asked....I was told I could use a snack for the items listed (popcorn, drinks, etc) or a cookie, krispie treat, or a single scoop of ice cream.

I also asked at the PO-R food court and got basically the same answer as you, except the ice cream was limited to the novelties, and no scoops of ice cream.

So if they're out of cookies, they'll give you a baked good? I think I read that somewhere.

We're not big breakfast people. DH & DS like muffins and bagels for breakfast. I was hoping to use the snack for a quick breakfast item, but I guess that won't work.

I was also wondering if I could use it in the bakeries. I really believe it's limited to snack-cart food and you got very lucky getting french toast loaf!

Thanks anyway!

I think I would go into it with the expectation of only being able to get what is listed except for maybe at resort food courts. We were hoping to be able to use our snack credits for cookies and milk at Electric Umbrella and couldn't get either. We also hoped to be able to use our snack credits for breakfast at Main Street Bakery and couldn't get anything with it- except maybe milk?? We got muffins, french toast loaf, and a cinnamon roll and NONE of it was allowed as snacks. We were able to get frozen lemonade as a snack from a cart near BTMRR.
We found the snacks VERY limiting and disappointing. We used the plan in August and are planning on using it again in May 2006 and I'm already kinda trying to plan out our meals and so far am having trouble working in snacks. I don't really like ice cream or popcorn or fruit- to me a snack is a cookie or something chocolate or even a frozen coffee. I feel the dining plan is still a great value and wish we could use it for our whole trip next time (we're renting points at VWL for part of our trip), but just don't like having to pay extra so much for things that are the same price as what is offered and could easily be included. Also I think a snack should be a DRINK and food item.

Our experience was that it depended on the CM. Basically only expect the soda, 24 oz water bottle, ice cream that you find at the carts, rice krispy treat and popcorn. We found that the food courts were more flexible, again depended on the CM, but we were able to get other things if we asked. Also, be careful in the parks because not all places take the snack credits. Most do but I wanted a bottle of water in ToonTown at MK and was told they did not take the dining plan.

We actually went into the Main St. Bakery planning on using 4 CS credits, but my ds10 only wanted the french toast loaf and an iced tea. Since a CS is good for 2 items and a drink, the CM recommended that we use 2 snack credits for the iced tea and french toast loaf, and 3 CS for the rest of our food. I didn't know they could do that, but it worked out good for us!
