Dining plan question

I'm really not a newbie, but I've always stayed on site. This June we're going to Orlando for volleyball tourney. We were planning on staying on site for a few days after the tournament, but now another family approached us asking if we'd be interested in sharing a rental for the whole week. So, is the dining plan available if you stay off site? I feel dumb for not knowing this.

Nope, dining plan is available only to guests of Disney operated resorts.
