Dining plan question

I have put together a trip for Thanksgiving week:

1st night SSR DVC reservation (points)
(waitlisted for BLT)

2nd night BLT DVC different reservation # (points)

3rd night BLT Cash AP rate thru disney
(waitlisted for BLT on points)

4th-6th nights BLT DVC different reservation # (points)

7th-9th nights SSR DVC different reservation # (points)

I would like to have the DxDDP for nights 1-3 only. Is that possible since we have multiple reservation numbers? If my waitlists do not come thru I know I can add dining to my AP discount room for that 1 night. If I were to have the waitlists come thru would they link all nighta at BLT together? I could live with nights 1-6 being on the dining plan (really just want the first 3).

Do not want days 7-9. We will probably spend the last 3 days doing non-Disney things in the Orlando area.

All BLT reservations are for dedicated 2bedroom lake view. I am hoping that we will be able to stay in the same villa and not have to move.

Yes you can as long as you check out on the 3rd day and then you can check right back in. Just remember that the DDP will expire on the night that you check out.

The way things stand now, yes you should be able to do that. Just remember that the first set of credits will be tied to the SSR stay and will have to be used by the end of the day you depart SSR. The next two days' credits will be on the BLT key cards and tied to the length of that stay.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't know that any of us can say with certainty how Disney would handle it if the waitlist comes through. DVC is supposed to require the DDP be purchased for the entire length of stay in a single resort/villa size/view.

If your waitlist comes through, I could see them mandating the DDP for nights 2-6 at BLT.

That shouldn't be a problem since it's a different resort.

Night 1 is easy.

Yes, you will get it for the day you get there and ends midnight next day.


If your waitlist for night 3 does not come through; yes, though you would again be checking and and out. days 2 credits would end at midnight on day 3 and day 3s would end at midnight on day 4, these would not be grouped together. You could not save a night 2 credit for day 4, it would have expired. Also note, you will need to keep track of cards and credits as except day 1 you will have 2 cards, 1 with a working room key and 1 with left over dining credits. This will be a pain, if say night 2s card is deactivated when night 3s card is given to you. 99% you will have a new card, and old one may/maynot work for food. It may be 3 trips to front desk fixing it.

However if night 3 comes through on a waitlist, it would not be allowed to only do night 2 and 3. I am not certain they would check, but I would hate to find out when I got there at check it, they were all linked to each other. If the waitlist came through, I would prolly skip the DP on day 2-3.

Wow, that's a lot of variables. You may want to talk to DVC about your options if you get either the second or the second AND third night at BLT. If you get all the BLT options, they may force you to get the DDP for the entire applicable LOS for any applicable BLT segment assuming it's a situation where you could stay in the same villa the entire time. What I'm not sure is how they would handle it if you'd already added part, paid for it and then the WL came through afterwards. Either way be prepared for one answer now and another when/if the WL comes through.
