For anyone who has had free dining before - is this doable?

We will be staying at Coronado Springs on our next trip, and have got free QS dining...... Would it be possible to upgrade to the DDP part way through our trip - ie the second week? We would like a few table service meals but not enough to warrant the DDP for 2 whole weeks. Just wondering if this can be done - or whether it will work out cheaper OOP.
Thanks for any help - advice

Unfortunately, no. The only people who can segment the Dining Plan during a single stay are DVCers staying on points.

If you want to have 2 different plans you would have to have two separate packages for your trip.

I'm in the US so I know some things are different for the UK, but if the rules are the same, you can upgrade the QS plan to the regular DDP by paying only the difference between the 2 plans. If this is possible, you can run the numbers and see if this would be feasible for you. It would have to be for the full length of your package.

AND.... if you decide to book two separate packages... then you'll have to start from scratch on your park tickets, too ---

so if you originally had (say) and 8 day park pass.. that 8th day is a lot cheaper, of course, than the first ---

but if you book two separate packages, you'd have to get TWO 4 day park passes ... paying for the "first day" twice... MUCH more expensive!!

You're probably better off upgrading your entire trip.

You have to upgrade for the whole trip so it is worth doing some maths to see if it is cheaper to upgrade the DP or OOP.

I would say if it is only a couple of TS then probably be best OOP.

Thanks for the heads up guys, do i have to upgrade here before I go or can i wait till i check in? Also another question are the likes of pretzels, dole whips and churros counted as snack credits? Is there a full listing somewhere detailing what is and isn't included? Another question that has occurred to me aswell is, can snack credits be used at food and wine festival booths ( obviously not alcoholic drinks) TIA

You need to upgrade here and I would suggest doing in time to get the correct paperwork from who ever you booked with - so at least 2 weeks in advance.

Other than the thread linked above snacks can be used on some F&W booth items - they have the snack symbol next to them on the menus.

In past years at the F&W festival you could use snack credits for any of the food (even the $7 lobster roll) and non-alcoholic beverages, but it was never announced. People only found out when the kiosks were put up and you could see the snack logo next to the various offerings.

The snack thread lists things that people have reported they could get. Sometimes things don't have a snack logo on the menu board so be sure and ask. The rule of thumb is most allowable snacks are about $4 or less.

You cannot modify the dining plan at your resort. It has to be added/modified no later than 72 hours before your arrival, but that close to your arrival you may incur a change fee.

Thank you all for answering all my questions so quickly guys, you have been a huge help .:goodvibes

Not on topic but I thought it was mentioning at the Pepper Market last year the wife asked for a pizza and they said she could have a 14" one as one quick service credit, great value but not sure if they still do it.
