Dining Plan Question

I posted this over on the Dining Boards but thought my fellow experienced DVCers might have quicker and better insight...

My DD10 is now an "adult" as far as the Dining Plan is concerned but she certainly does not eat like one. I know if I purchase the Dining Plan I have to purchase it for all 4 of us. BUT this is my question: can we pay for her food out of pocket and save up her credits for when we eat at a 2 credit table service restaurant? This would be for dinner only. Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

I am pretty sure the answer is yes. You'll get X number of adult TS credits per night. Assuming you have three adults in your family (including your DD10) and are staying for five nights you'll have 15 TS credits at your disposal until midnight on the day you check out. I really don't believe it matters how you use them and I know that WDW doesn't mind if you leave with unused TS credits.

Yes they are all pooled together. You can't use the dining plan for someone who's not on the reservation, but it doesn't say you HAVE to use it for every person at every meal. So I think you are good to go.

I know when you order your DP it is for your whole party/room. However, I have ordered things like appetizers and paid cash or used TiW card for it as well. Granted this has been with using our DP for the two of us also.

I am not 100% sure but I don't see a problem with ordering three dinners and then paying OOP for the 4th. As long as you tell your server how you want to do it, they are usually pretty good that way.

You can definetely do this...we did it with our daughter when we were there last summer. A dinner at the castle was well worth paying for a couple of sanwiches for her at lunch time.

All credits are pooled for all members in the room. So, techincally, one person could use all the snacks, another all the CS meals and another all the TS meals.

Each KTTW card will tell the server the total credits remaining regardless of which card you use and you won't have to provide all cards for all diners.

Thanks everyone - so glad I asked this question - now I am totally rethinking how to best use our dining plan credits. Sometimes it pays to "think outside the box"! ;)

Can two people share a TS meal? I have 2 teenage girls and one eats like a bird. Could they share? I am thinking no, but thought I would ask:confused3

I believe that they can. I think I have read that there are a few signature places that don't allow it, but most do. Best bet is to ask your server when you get there.

DD and I usually share a meal when we use table service on the DP due to she can not eat that much food and I do not need it :rotfl2:. So if we get to do that I am sure you can pay out of pocket for her if you would like and just use the TS meal credit another time.

I couldn't imagine my wife and I sharing any meal in DisneyWorld! LOL!

I hate to say it, but when it comes to eating in DisneyWorld, we have gotten spoiled and eat like pigs! This year we are going down for 16 days and we are paying more than the 23 days we did this past summer because she wants to try a few Signature restaurants and so we are getting the Deluxe Plan for the last week of our trip!
