are buffet meals considered TS? and, if so, if you are on the basic DP, are appetizers included? IIRC, when we ate at O'Hana, our buffet meal included apps and dessert (we paid cash for the meal). If we did the DP and went there, would it be the same deal? TIA!

Yes, you can eat anything off the buffet when on the dining plan, this includes kids. I think they are all TS, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Apps are included with the Deluxe Dining Plan only. We were on it last Nov. Believe me, too much food! At O'hanas your wings, veggies etc...are part of the meal. If you're on the regular dining plan or pay cash, you still get those.

That only applies to non-buffet meals. Everything on the buffet is inculded.

All buffets are TS. Even on the official WDW dining plan brochures, it says that when using credits for a buffet, you are entitled to the full buffet. (A buffet does not have "appetizers." You are OK to get anything available at the buffet whether you are an adult or a child.)

At all you can eat family-style meals, like 'Ohana - 'Ohana is not a buffet - or fixed price, fixed menu meals, like CRT, all courses offered on the set menu (including appetizer courses) are included in the basic dining plan.
