Dining Plan Question

I am sure there will be someone out there who can help with this question?

As you can see from my siggy below this year we are planning a split resort holiday. 5 nights at Pop, 7 nights at POR and 2 nights at AKL, all booked through WDW Travel Company.

We want to add on the DDP, and are prepared to purchase our tickets from WDW Travel as well so that we can get this.

Our dilemma is that as we are moving resorts, we have 3 different bookings. We thought we could add the DDP onto all 3 bookings and purchase the 14 day ultimate tickets and that would be it - job done!

However, when I rang tonight, the CM wasn't the best but did add the DDP and 14 day tickets to the first booking. She then said we could not add the DDP onto the 2nd booking unless we purchased more tickets Not something we want to do. :confused3

After reading a couple of things it would appear that you only have to purchase 1 day's worth of park tickets to qualify for your full stay of DDP, so we came up with a plan. ;)

Is it be possible to purchase DDP for 3 people and 1 x 14 day ticket on each booking??

Or, do you have to purchase 1 day's worth of park tickets per person per booking, plus DDP for all of us?

I have to say it isn't clear from the website, as it says that DDP has to be selected for all members of the party, nothing about park tickets for everyone.

Or is there any other way round this?

Can anyone help Please?????????

When we did a split stay in 2006 we booked our holiday through VH and had the dining plan and the 7 day premium pass. This did cause the CM'S some problems. When I tried to book it again last year VH wouldn't do it.There must be some way around it but I am not sure how.Someone on here will be able to advise you.

Thanks for that. :thumbsup2

Can anyone else help??

The other alternative is just to have the DDP for our 7 night stay at POR, but if we buy the 14 day ultimate tickets, can we still use them from day 1 of our holiday?

Does anyone know?? :confused3

Simple answer first your 14 days start from your first visit to the parks, whenever you decide to go.Unfortunately your idea for the 3 DDP & 1 14 Day pass is a no go- if you want 3 DDP you must buy 3 passes at the same time,I'm also assuming that your staying at Pop first? Meaning that you will only have 5 days DDP?I take it 14 days at Por or Pop isn't an option & just going to Akl to eat?

I can tell you how it works when booking with Disney in the US.

The DDP is attached to your hotel booking and cannot be moved between hotels. To qualify for DDP you have to purchase a package which includes a room booking and tickets of some kind and all guests have to purchase the same. So if you stay at 3 different hotels you can have DDP but would have to purchase tickets at all 3 hotels.

I don't think it is any different when booking through a UK agent.

Hi Everyone

Thanks for all your advice.

Due to circumstances (ie flight being changed to 3 days earlier!!!!), we have actually changed our holiday. We are now staying 11 nights at POR with DDP and the 14 day ultimate tickets, and then 3 nights at AKL without DDP, and we will still have 3 days left on our park tickets.

Thanks again

That sounds a better idea and well done for changing it.I think to get what you want you sometimes have to compramise a little and it would of worked out dearer with the first booking.Congratulations and enjoy the planning:banana: :cool1: :cheer2:

Hi

You can check on this - it did work in the past, but may not now. Book a 1 day ticket for all 3 members of your party with hotel booking 1. Same for hotel 2 and the same for hotel 3. You'd then qualify for DDP. Then on arrival at WDW take your tickets to guest relations and ask them for an upgrade to 3 14-day tickets...they should use your existing tickets as a credit towards the 14-dayers.

I'm not sure I've explained that as well as I could, but I know what mean :)
