Dining Plan Problem

We were at Disney last weekend and had the dining plan. On Saturday we had lunch at Wolfgang puck express. When we did the express checkout on Monday, our credit card had been billed for the lunch instead of the dining plan. I called the front desk, they said it had already been put back on the dining plan and taken off of our credit card. Here we are a week later and we still have been charged for that lunch when we had the credits on the dining plan for CS. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Not much you can do at this point except wait for Disney to apply a credit or go through your bank's procedures for contesting charges.

Sometimes it takes a bit longer for Disney to process the credits. When I was to get a credit on my credit card for a reservation the Disney travel rep indicated I should expect to see a credit within about 2 weeks. And, I did - just about two weeks from that date. So, it may be coming. It might not hurt to call, but I wouldn't get too worried yet (if it was just one week ago).

Curious how it take Disney seconds to process credit cards payments, but days or weeks to process a credit.

Good luck!

I'm sorry that this happened to you. It's a nice reminder for everyone to glance at their room charges a couple times over their trip (just stop by the desk and ask for a print out every couple days) to make sure everything is the way it's supposed to be. We were able to catch an error BEFORE the charge went through on our credit card that way.

I was there Easter week and had a problem w/ planet hollywood double charging my dining plan--got it resolved quickly at concierge --they said it happens often -especially w/ Planet. Just a quick reminder to check your credits remaining at the front desk.
Also ,another in my party had his credit card charged instead of dining plan --had it sorted out the day it happened, but still got to watch. Actually I think it's better NOT to attach creditcard to room key/DDP. That way there is no chance of charges to CC.

We also had some items charged to our room that we intended to used snack credits to purchase. The first time we didn't catch it, but it was just one thing. The second time, it was for 5 snacks. We told the cashier that we wanted to use snack credits, not charge to the room. She argued with us that we didn't tell her up front, which we did. Anyhow, she corrected it. From that point on, we used one of the children's cards for deducting credits. Since their cards said, "Not for Charging" it avoided further mistakes. We actually let them take turns paying. They rotated whose card would be used and when we got the receipt, we had them check the credits to make sure the correct number had been deducted.

That is very good advice and exactly why I didn't have charging privilidges attached to my room key cards, any of them. I figured with all of our food paid for, we didn't really need that. When I bought souveneirs I just used either my debit card or a Disney gift card I had gotten from a friend. I had just read too many horror stories of this kind of thing happening and didn't want the hassle.

Thanks so much for posting this information. I'll keep close tabs on my charges.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: YOU are so smart. Why didn't we all think of that. THANK YOU so much. I will definately use that idea next time. I always add the credit card privelege to my card, and when we were there in March I watch my credit card transactions like a hock due to this problem. Luckly nothing happened but never say never.

Thanks again for the great advice:banana:

This is exactly what we do too. This only happens when you have charging privilidges on your room card. We always ask not to have the charging on our cards when using the DDP. Back in Feb 07 we noticed this happened to us at Mrs. Potts, then again at Harbor House (all on the same day). We kept thinking, no way can this happen. We looked at our rooms cards and they did say charging allowed on them. Yikes!! we went back to the front desk at WL and had the cards changed and the CM transferred the credits off of our card and back to our credit card. The charge was back immediately with no problem. Unless you want to watch you card and your checkout bill closely, I would forgo charging privilidges.

Does it say somewhere on the receipt that credits were used or at least show how many credits you have left? Wouldn't this be way to fix the problem...check your receipt right away?
