I will be renting points (I hope) for a trip in November. We know we want the dining plan - do I have to get my park tickets through Disney as well or can I get them outside of Disney? I know if I book on my own I have to get tickets through them in order to get the meal plan so I assume that hold true for DVC renting as well??:confused3

There is no ticket requirement for DVC Members puchasing the DDP. However, if you are renting points, it will be up to the member you rent from if they want to add the DDP for you or not. The plan must be prepaid, so some members are not willing to do this. If you are able to book it, it must be done so at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date. Good luck!

I didn't realize it had to be prepaid. Is that new because all the other info I read said you can pay for it when you check in?

Also, any suggestion on where to get the best deal on park tickets?

As far as I know, that has not gone in to effect yet, but will be sometime this fall. Depending on when you go to make the reservation, you may or may not have to pay when it is added.

I know that I was able to add it to a December reservation a few weeks ago and it was still pay at check in.

As far as tickets, you can get them through Undercovertourist as that is a good deal. We bought my DH"s at AAA. It was only a few dollars more than UT but still a discount from Disney.

But, if you are planning for this coming November, be aware that the closer you get, the harder it will be to find the reservation you want as things book up quickly during that time frame for DVC.

Good luck!!

I hope you are looking at November 2011, DVC resorts sell out very early and start booking 11 months in advance.

I just added DDP for a renter I'm helping who is going in November and it was not required to be prepaid. I was told that the renter just had to pay for the DDP at check-in, but that it was still planned to go prepaid 'later this year'.

Thanks everyone. I am looking for this November. My understanding is that SSR still has my dates open but I know that could change today. I need to find a renter willing to sell for $9 pp. I've been in touch with some nice people but it hasn't worked out for that price. Keeping my fingers crossed but starting to doubt I'll get it.
