I have a question but first want to thank all the kind folks at the DIS boards for being so helpful! We have planned our first wdw vacation for 10/4/09 thru 10/9/09 and are staying on rented points at SSR. My question is, is it too late to add the dining package and do you think it is worth it? We will be staying in a 2bdrm villa so will have use of the full kitchen. Thanks :flower3:

you can add it up to 2days prior to arrival and you pay on arrival at the front desk.

With the new counter service only DP, I do think it is worth it. Still pricey but honestly I'm not packing sandwiches and lunch stuff to take to the parks and going back to the villas for dinners, yk? We have done that before but that was a very slow paced puttering around type of trip. We are still planning on eating all but one breakfast in the room this trip so we'll see if this plan ends up being too much food as well since the kids are not big eaters.

You will need to contact the DVC Member you rented from. The Member will need to call Member Services to add the DDP for you, if you decide you want it.

As to whether any dining plan is worth it depends entirely upon your normal dining habits, and the make-up of your party. As two adults, we usually eat a table service lunch and a light counter service dinner. We order what we want to eat, usually appetizers & entree, but no dessert. Appetizers are not covered under the DDP. Some days we spend more, some days less, but overall, we spend less than the cost of the plan, and we eat what we want rather then what Disney wants to feed us.

Thanks for the feed back! I think we're going to skip the ddp and do a larger majority of our meals in our room. Breakfast in the room will be easy,we do plan on taking a lunch break to relax so figure we can do larger lunches at the resort, pack some light dinner stuff and splurge on the fun snacks and what not. We are definitely planning at least 2 sd meals.

BTW can someone please tell me what is a dole whip? Can you tell Im a newbie?? :rotfl:
