Dining Plan only on certain days

Okay..we can do this now, right? I know I have read a few threads about it-and people segmenting their vacations, but I just called MS and they said "No, you have to have it for the whole length of stay." I tried to talk to her about it, but she held her ground.

Did it change again? Or is it just an uninformed CM?

I emailed MS a few weeks ago and asked that my reservation be segmented in order to later add the DDP to only certain nights.

I have heard that some CM's are telling folks that its not possible or giving them a hard time about things.

I wonder if when this came about they didn't anticipate the number of people who would be requesting the segmenting.

But, using the email system was easy and I got a response in 2 days that my trip was all set. I did make sure to include in the email that I only wanted it done if there was no chance of losing either one of my reservations since we are doing a split stay at both BWV with a BW view and at BLT with a SV room.

I will now be able to call back and add the DxDDP to my first and third nights in July--once I have all the guests firmed up.

This CM was quite abrupt that I HAD TO have it for the entire stay. Hey, they should know we DVCers know the value of a buck and if it's gonna be a good deal, we are going to take advantage!

Last week we segmented our 2 week stay into 14 separate days and then added DDP every odd day. This means we can have a sit down meal every odd day and a quick service on the even days (each nights DDP is good until midnight the following night). I suggest you call back as we had no trouble. Yes, once you have the reservation segmenting--and maybe that is why she was so insistent because she didn't want to have to segment--it will be easy to add what you want.

I am excited to try it this way. We have always loved the convenience of the plans but just didn't need it for every night. Now that we have this option (and I hope it continues), it works out. I ran numbers today against TIW and it is such a small difference its not worth it. Plus, I just know I won't order what I really want when paying OOP--the price just gets to me.

When I am on the plan, I don't have to worry about price. Mental thing, I know, but that is the way that I am.

I did decide to call back, a CM is helping me that knows what she is doing. She rocks! It took a LONG time, I was on the phone for over 20 minutes, but she got it. Just wrapped it up as I was typing this!

I hope they keep this perk. We aren't big on the dining plans or table service (we have a 3 year old-'nuff said!) at this point, but we do like some sit-downs.

We added the DDP for one day where we have Hollywood & Vine breakfast, and the DxDDP to stretch two days for a Chef Mickey's breakfast, Teppan Edo dinner, and the next day a Kona dinner. It will help us save a bit, plus my husband is excited that he will get dessert at ALL these meals without a glance at the cost. Our other TS we have booked paying OOP will be cheaper.

After being told NO by a CM also, I took the advise here and e-mailed my request.
It was done in less than 24 hours with no hassles.
I just have to call now when I'm ready to actually add the DP.
Just send them your reservation information and how you want it segmented.
It is very easy to do by e-mail.
