I just wanted to clarify something. I rented points and if I wanted to add the dining plan I need to do that through the person I rented from, correct? It can not be added when I check in, correct? I would need to pay the person I was renting from and they would pay disney, correct?
Thank you!

The member that you rented from will need to contact MS to add the dining plan for you. All persons listed on the reservation must be on the same plan for all nights. It can not be added/removed by the front desk at check-in. You will pay for the dining plan at check-in.

You just need to indicate to the member that you'd like the dining plan, and he/she will add it to the reservation. You don't have to pay for it until you check in at the resort.

At least, this is how it worked for me last month. I think there's a pending change that may make it mandatory to pay for it in advance, when it's added to the reservation. I don't think that's happened yet, though.

DDP has to be added at least 3 days (or maybe 2 days, I forgot I always tell people 3 days just to be sure) before arrival date. When the new reservation program is implemented (no date has been released yet) DDP has to be paid when added into the reservation. And when that happens you'll have to work it out with the people you rent to maybe give them your cc # or they'll pay dvc and you'll send them the $ to cover it.

As of now I think you can still pay when you check in.

So you don't have to do it when you make the reservation....it can be added at a later date?

yes.

but if you wait and can't get in touch with the DVC owner renting the reservation at the last minute, then you're out of luck. much easier to make DME and DDP plans when making the original reservation if at all possible.
