Dining Plan not available at some resorts?

I had a trip planned and waiting in my cart at Coronado Springs Resort. I put the dining plan on (not free) to see how this price compares. I want the dining plan regardless if I have to pay. But when comparing prices today...I had a message that the dining plan is no longer available at the selected resort. Can you only purchase dining plan when staying at certain resorts? I've never booked a trip myself (always traveled with family or groups).

Yes, there are resorts that are exempt (POFQ for one), and only a certain number of rooms are available for the discount at participating resorts. So let's say Coronado Springs has 200 rooms set aside for free dining, once those are booked, free dining is no longer available for the resort. Also, sometimes it will depend on the room category you choose : Like, 50 standard rooms, 75 garden view, 75 water view or whatever will be available for the discount, so when one category sells out, you can only pick from the others. Does that make sense? Even though you had the vacation in your cart, it wasn't paid for, so the room was released back into the system.

But that's all if they're looking for free dining. None of it applies if you're willing to pay for the plan. All resorts, all rooms are eligible if you're buying the plan.

OP, did you happen to log in through the special Free Dining offer on the Disney web page? That might be why you're getting that it's not available. Might be easiest to just call. But if you're looking to book and pay for the plan, you should be fine.

I guess my main confusion is it was not free dining. It was a regular paid dining package. I was able to empty my cart then add it all back and it is working find. I guess I'll blame this on the "magical technical construction".

I would just try again - sounds like a glitch - or call. If you are trying to get it for free, that would make sense. If you are just doing the regular package then it should allow you to add it. We have stayed at POFQ multiple times and had the dining plan package.
